Lucas Jumalon has claimed the 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event title. The 22-year-old from Spokane, Washington, defeated Finland's Lauri Saaskilahti in heads-up play Wednesday night. His victory came at Horseshoe Las Vegas, capping an 11-day battle. Jumalon outlasted a field of 9,208 entrants, the fourth-largest in event history. He collected the $10 million top prize along with the champion's bracelet. Jumalon becomes the second-youngest Main Event winner ever, trailing only Joe Cada. He is also the first Washington native to win poker's biggest title. His heads-up win over Saaskilahti took just 17 hands to complete.

Saaskilahti Pushes Back Before Wire-to-Wire Win Holds

Jumalon entered the three-day final table with a commanding chip lead and didn't relinquish that advantage over eight other finalists. That feat made him the first wire-to-wire Main Event winner since Koray Aldemir in 2021. Saaskilahti, a 40-year-old Finnish pro, proved the toughest test at the table. He pushed Jumalon harder than any other opponent during the closing stretch. In one key hand, Jumalon moved all-in after Saaskilahti raised preflop. Jumalon's run to the title included a near-elimination on Day 8. He shoved all-in preflop against Will Givens while trailing badly. A fortunate flop rescued his tournament and tripled his remaining stack.

By the unofficial final table, Jumalon held a massive chip advantage. He kept extending that lead through the first two final-table sessions without serious threat.
