New Watch Event The Escapement to Debut in Las Vegas

A new collector-focused watch event, The Escapement, will make its world debut in Las Vegas Feb. 5-7, 2027. Organizers announced the event Wednesday, bringing leading watchmakers and collectors to T-Mobile Arena and Sphere Las Vegas. Confirmed brands include Greubel Forsey, Romain Gauthier, Biver, Ming, Armin Strom and Czapek. The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry developed the programming, which includes expert panels, workshops and masterclasses. It will also host the inaugural Rubis Awards, honoring excellence in independent watchmaking. The three-day debut adds a new luxury gathering to the Strip's growing events calendar.

The Escapement's Three-Day Lineup: Parties and Shows

The Escapement runs across three distinct days. Friday, Feb. 5 opens with a VIP party and philanthropic auction at Sphere Las Vegas. Saturday, Feb. 6 shifts to a full day of exhibitions and programming at T-Mobile Arena, followed by an evening comedy show. Sunday, Feb. 7 closes the event with additional programming, the inaugural Rubis Awards ceremony and a closing musical performance.

The lineup blends trade-show elements with cultural programming, including music and comedy. Organizers, whose team has produced events from Tokyo to Miami to Riyadh, describe the gathering as a collector-led celebration of horology. Tickets go on sale in early September, according to the event's official website.

Why the Event Moved From the Gulf to Las Vegas

The Escapement was not originally planned for Las Vegas. Organizer Kingflum wrote in a newsletter post that regional instability forced a change of course. The event's original Gulf-region launch stalled after the war involving Iran began earlier this year. Organizers delayed their initial plans, hoping conditions would improve, but they never did. Abu Dhabi's Offlimits Music Festival, headlined by Shakira and set for Yas Island's Etihad Park, was also canceled being postponed once already.

Both events had been scheduled for the same November weekend. Facing a second cancellation nearby, organizers decided to relocate. Kingflum called the decision "the understatement of the decade," reflecting how difficult the pivot was for the founding team.

How It Compares to Vegas' Existing Watch Shows

Las Vegas already hosts several watch and jewelry gatherings, including the long-running JCK and Couture shows each June. The Escapement distinguishes itself through its Sphere venue tie-in and independent-brand focus. Confirmed participants lean toward boutique and artisan watchmakers rather than mass-market luxury names.

The Rubis Awards add a competitive showcase that most existing Vegas watch events lack.

Organizers have not yet released full pricing or an exhibitor list beyond the initial brand announcement. More speakers and programming details are expected before the February debut.
