Station Casinos Surprises Staff With $70M Stock Award

Station Casinos capped its 50th anniversary celebration with a surprise stock award worth more than $70 million. Red Rock Resorts Chairman and CEO Frank Fertitta III and Vice Chairman Lorenzo Fertitta presented it at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa. Nearly 10,000 full- and part-time team members employed as of September 9 qualify for the award. Each will receive $1,000 in Red Rock Resorts Class A stock per year of service. Most recipients work at Southern Nevada properties. The award marks a milestone for a company built on taking care of its people, capping months of anniversary festivities across the company's Las Vegas properties.

Longest-Serving Staff Honored, Fertittas Share Gratitude

The surprise ceremony honored Station Casinos' longest-serving employees. Ida Johnson, who began her career in 1977, received $49,000 worth of stock. Six other team members hired that decade at the original Bingo Palace each received more than $45,000 in equity.

"Our father founded this company on a few simple principles," said Frank Fertitta III. "Serve the local community, deliver great value, and most importantly, take care of our team members." Lorenzo Fertitta called the award "an investment in our nearly 10,000 team members." He added that the company is "deeply thankful" for their dedication. Team members can begin receiving shares this month.

Class A Stock Gives Ownership, Not Voting Control

The $70 million payout arrives entirely in Red Rock Resorts Class A common stock. Each Class A share carries one vote.

The Fertitta family retains control through separate Class B shares, which carry ten votes each, giving the brothers roughly 90 percent of total voting power.

Employees still gain real financial ownership, and the distinction does not diminish the award's value. It does clarify what employees are receiving: an economic stake, not a say in company decisions. Red Rock Resorts trades publicly, giving Class A shares a transparent market value that team members can track.

50 Years of Growth and Strong 2026 Results

Station Casinos traces its roots to 1976, when the Fertitta family opened its first Las Vegas property. The company has grown into one of the region's largest locals-focused operators, with properties spanning the Las Vegas valley.

Station Casinos has kept investing throughout its anniversary year, including an expansion at Durango Casino & Resort. Red Rock Resorts also posted stronger-than-expected second-quarter results in 2026, reflecting steady performance despite ongoing construction. Founder Frank Fertitta Jr. built the business on serving Southern Nevada's locals market. The stock award closes out a year of milestones for a company that still calls itself a local favorite.
