Las Vegas Sphere Posts Record Q1 2026 Revenue

The Las Vegas Sphere has kicked off 2026 with its strongest financial performance to date. Revenue for the January–March period surged 38% year-on-year to $386.4 million, beating Wall Street expectations. The company swung to $7.2 million in operating income, compared to a $78.6 million loss in the same quarter last year. Net income reached $4.46 million, against an $81.95 million loss a year ago. Adjusted operating income climbed to $110 million from $36 million. Earnings per share moved from a 49-cent loss to a 4-cent gain. The company ended the quarter with $630.15 million in cash.

The Wizard of Oz and Venue Segment Performance in Q1

The Sphere's AI-enhanced reimagining of The Wizard of Oz remains the primary revenue engine, having sold nearly 3 million tickets and generated over $370 million in ticket revenue since its August 2025 debut. In Q1 alone, the show ran 209 performances. CEO James Dolan noted that the production's ability to run multiple times daily is "good for the bottom line."

The venue segment posted $266 million in revenue for the quarter, up 69% year-on-year, and the Sphere topped both Billboard's and Pollstar's lists of the world's highest-grossing venues in 2025.

President and COO Jennifer Koester added: "We're going to keep a close eye on tourism, but the demand for our experiences remains strong and resilient."

No Doubt, Metallica, and Backstreet Boys Head to the Sphere

The Sphere's event calendar signals continued strong demand. No Doubt recently opened its residency, just days after Phish completed nine sold-out shows. The Backstreet Boys are returning for 21 nights from July 16 through August 19. Metallica sold out 24 consecutive nights from October 2026 through March 2027. Later this year, the venue will also premiere From the Edge, an extreme-sports documentary from Oscar winners E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, featuring free climber Alex Honnold. Advertising revenue from the Sphere's Exosphere also grew, with Evian signing a new multi-year sponsorship deal.

Sphere Expansion Eyes Abu Dhabi, Maryland, and Nashville

Dolan used the Q1 earnings call to reaffirm his vision for a global Sphere network. "We continue to successfully prove out the Sphere business model in Las Vegas, which is now serving as the blueprint for our long-term vision: a global network of Sphere venues powered by our proprietary technology and immersive content," he told investors. A full-scale Sphere in Abu Dhabi is advancing with funding from the emirate's Department of Culture and Tourism. A smaller, 6,000-seat venue planned for National Harbor in Maryland remains on track for a 2030 opening. Talks are also underway about a potential Nashville location.
