Las Vegas has secured top spots across several prestigious travel rankings. US News & World Report named it the inaugural No. 1 Best Conference City for 2026-2027. WalletHub ranked it America's premier Independence Day destination. Both distinctions reflect expansive infrastructure, unmatched hospitality, and growing convention momentum. Las Vegas defeated rivals like New York, Chicago, and Orlando for conference supremacy while outranking Washington, D.C., for July 4 celebrations.

Why Las Vegas Dominates US Conference Rankings

Las Vegas stands out among 52 major US cities for meeting and convention excellence. It offers nearly 15 million square feet of dedicated meeting and convention space.

Three of the nation's 10 largest convention centers operate in Las Vegas, including the Las Vegas Convention Center, Mandalay Bay Convention Center, and the Venetian Convention & Expo Center.

The Las Vegas Convention Center recently completed a $600 million renovation. Spanning 4.6 million square feet, the facility includes 2.5 million square feet of dedicated exhibit space.

Las Vegas also boasts 150,000 hotel rooms, the largest inventory of any US city. Harry Reid International Airport offers nonstop service to more than 150 destinations. US News highlighted the city's ability to combine exceptional meeting facilities with memorable visitor experiences. The Venetian Resort Las Vegas earned the top ranking among the city's conference hotels. Marriott Marquis properties dominated the national rankings, securing four spots in the top 10 conference destinations. Convention Attendance Is Surging in 2026

Convention attendance in Las Vegas is growing remarkably. The city welcomed 6 million convention attendees in 2025. In the first four months of 2026, Las Vegas attracted more than 2.5 million convention attendees. This figure represents a 10.1% year-on-year increase despite broader economic uncertainty.

Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority President and CEO Steve Hill called the US News ranking meaningful. He noted the ranking underscores what sets Las Vegas apart. Best-in-class meeting and event infrastructure is the city's core competitive advantage. Its iconic experience inspires attendees and elevates every event. Hill also credited customers who continue choosing Las Vegas for industry advancement.

Las Vegas Also Dominates July 4 Rankings

Beyond its conference credentials, Las Vegas captured top honors for Independence Day celebrations. WalletHub ranked the city No. 1 among the 100 most populous US cities. Las Vegas received high marks for affordability, celebrations, attractions, and recreational activities. It ranks first in entertainment and recreational facilities.

Las Vegas offers an abundance of affordable restaurants rated 4.5 stars or higher. Extensive rideshare services and public transportation provide safe travel alternatives, while Southern Nevada's climate favors July festivities. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority will host a special fireworks show on July 4. Nine casino resorts will synchronize their fireworks for the country's 250th anniversary. The American Automobile Association (AAA) projects 72.2 million Americans will travel this Fourth of July.
