Whether you’re a seasoned punter or just making your first bets, Live Dealer is the best way to play casino games. There is no need to think about algorithms or Random Number Generators, which is what determines the outcomes of most online casino games.

You don’t need a webcam or microphone on your computer or mobile device to play. All you need is a strong internet connection and the ability to watch a streaming video. If you like interacting with the dealer, there is a chat feature that can be enabled.

As mentioned above, there are many different Roulette variations available to play at live dealer casinos, and each one has their own little twist.

This section will be an overall breakdown of the rules, if you want the rules for the specific game, click on the “Hamburger” button on the top left corner of the game. For more information, scroll down to our “Help” section below.

How to Play Live Roulette Online

Regardless of which Roulette game you choose to play, the basic rules are the same. The first thing to do is place your bet.

There is a countdown timer on the screen, and if you don’t get your wager down before it reaches “0” the game will begin, and all you can do is sit and watch. The length of the timer will vary per game. Most of the games will give you 20 seconds to place the bet, although Speed Roulette has just a 10-second timer.

After the bets are in, the croupier will drop the ball, and you can watch in real-time as it bounces around the wheel until finally landing on one of the numbered pockets.

Placing Your Bets

There are three betting tables, each with different betting options. The main betting table is recognizable to even the newest Roulette players. This is where you can place all the standard bets, such as a bet on a particular number, odds/even, red/black, rows, columns, or sections.

On the left side of the screen is the racetrack. This is where you can place some advanced bets, such as Neighbours, Orphelins, Tier, and Voisins. When you place a Neighbours bet, you can set the amount of numbers on each side of the number you are betting on from 1-9.

In some of the games, next to the Racetrack, is an option for advanced betting options. You can save your four favourite bets for quick access.

While the dealer is live, you will still place bets with virtual chips. Just click on the chip size that you want to bet with and put it on the table. One great feature is that as you hover over any bet, it will highlight which numbers will result in a win.

At the end of each round, you can either place a new bet or click on the “Rebet” button to place the same bet again. There is also an option to double your bets by clicking on X2 button.

You can find the advanced statistics, betting history, and complete payout table by clicking on the icons located on the left-hand side of your screen.

While the dealer and action are happening live in a casino, the actual betting and payouts are still taking place on the computer or mobile device. Once the Roulette ball lands in a numbered pocket, the payment system will instantly calculate whether there is a win or loss, and based on your bet, how much money is added back into your account.

It’s important to understand the odds of each bet, to help you make smart bets. There are some bets, such as betting on Red or Black, that will pay out 1:1, while other bets, such as betting on an entire row, will pay out at odds of 3:1. If you correctly bet on a single number then you can expect to receive a payout at odds of 36:1.

Punters love to devise different strategies to try and beat the house when playing their favourite casino games. Roulette, because it has bets that are so close to being 50/50, is a popular game for mathematicians to try and beat.

The three most popular betting strategies for European Roulette are:

  1. Martingale: The idea behind the Martingale betting system is to bet on either red/black or odds/evens and double your bet after every bet. The logic behind it is that these bets give close to 50% odds so if you lose a game, then by doubling your bet, you’ll have decent odds of winning that loss back on the following spin.
  2. Paroli: Unlike the Martingale system, which requires you to increase bets after a loss, in this system, you will double every bet after a win. The logic behind it is you are betting with house money, and only resetting after a loss.
  3. D’Alembert: This is considered a low-risk, low reward strategy. It is similar to the Martingale strategy in that you increase your wager after each loss and decrease it after each win. However, the increase should be just one unit and not doubling the previous bet.

Playtech has developed several exclusive Live Roulette games, including the following:

  • Spread Bet Roulette: Using a virtual golden wheel, you’ll have additional bets that can pay out as high as 400:1. The virtual outer wheel and inner wheel sync up before the ball lands in a pocket and the two winning numbers are added up. If you bet on a spread that includes that new number, you’ll win.
  • Age of the Gods Roulette: Nothing beats the excitement of a progressive jackpot that can randomly pay out on every spin. A percentage of each bet goes into four Age of the Gods progressive jackpots when can be won at any moment.

Thanks to an industry leading up-time and incredibly fast streaming capabilities, Playtech can bring UK punters closer to the action, without having to fight traffic and crowds to play at a brick-and-mortar casino.

While playing Live Dealer Roulette can be an unbelievable experience for many punters, some may find it a bit overwhelming. Don’t give up to too quickly; there are plenty of help options that will help you adjust.

The most significant difference is the speed of the game; you will have to get in your bets before the game starts. This takes some getting used to, and no amount of tutorials will help you out. However, understanding the betting options and what all the different buttons on the screen can do will help you make the smart bets quickly.

If you find that you need some assistance when playing Live Dealer Roulette, there are two options:

  1. In-Game Help Menu: The help menu can be found on the side of your screen. Click on the “Hamburger” button and then click “Help” and you’ll find all the information that you could need.
There is an in-depth guide that goes through the betting flow, explains the different betting options, and any other important information that is relevant to the specific game you are playing.
  2. Customer Support: If you’re having technical difficulties, or just aren’t finding the answer to your question in the help menu, you can always contact your casino’s customer support team. They are on call via live chat, email or telephone to answer any question you might have.

You will also find the betting ranges, payouts, odds, stats, betting history, and more in this section.

Of course, you can also try asking your dealer through the chat function if you have a question about the game, and they may be able to give an immediate answer as well.

There are often bonuses or promotions that can be redeemed before playing Live Dealer Roulette.

These are a great way to play some rounds with house money, and since Live Dealer games are only available in real money mode, it allows you to try out some games without dipping into your bankroll.

It’s always a good idea to check out the casino bonuses page or the promotions page to see the latest offers. Make sure to read the Terms and Conditions of the promotion, and understand the wagering requirements so that there are no surprises when you’re done playing.

Playing Live Dealer Roulette brings you to the casino floor without having to leave your home. With HD streaming cameras and live action unfolding before your eyes, there is no better way to play at the online casino.
