Key Takeaways
- Seated registrants get artist presale access on November 11.
- The band will perform 2112 and Moving Pictures in full.
- Some VIP packages include meeting Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson.
Rush will bring its "Elevate From the Norm" residency to Sphere in Las Vegas in May 2027. Co-founders Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson announced the five-show run on Thursday, November 5. The band will play May 21, 23, 26, 28, and 30.
VIP and travel packages, which include stays at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, go on sale today for Rush Backstage and newsletter subscribers. The announcement confirms months of reports that the Canadian rock band had been in talks with Sphere.
Ticket Dates, Plus 2112 and Moving Pictures in Full
Subscribers get an exclusive two-hour window to buy VIP and travel packages, starting at 10 am PT today. The artist presale begins Wednesday, November 11, at 10 am PT. Fans who register through Seated will receive a presale code. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, November 13, at 10 am PT.
Lee said Sphere appealed to him even before the band reunited, adding that it "sounds tailor-made" for how Rush designs its shows. The band normally spends months developing visual effects, he noted, and the Sphere scenario "seemed like the cherry on top."
Full album performances are also planned, "meaning playing all of *2112* and all of *Moving Pictures* along with an array of other songs," Lee said.
VIP Packages Offer Meet-and-Greets and Fontainebleau Stays
Superfan, the residency's official VIP and travel partner, is bringing its packages to Fontainebleau Las Vegas for the first time. Each travel package combines a Fontainebleau stay with concert tickets, VIP perks, merchandise, and shuttle rides.
The shuttle bridges the gap between Fontainebleau, on the north end of the Strip, and Sphere, which stands next to The Venetian. Fans can choose from three VIP packages with premium seating. Select packages add a meet-and-greet with Lee and Lifeson, band-signed merchandise, and access to the Xanadu VIP Lounge. An official Rush pop-up shop at Fontainebleau will sell merchandise celebrating the band's career and its Sphere debut.
Rush Joins a Busy Sphere Lineup With a Shorter Run Than Expected
Rush joins a crowded Sphere calendar. Metallica's sold-out, 24-show "Life Burns Faster" residency runs through March 13, 2027. John Mayer follows with six nights in April 2027, and Rush takes over in late May. Sphere has also hosted residencies by Phish, the Eagles, and No Doubt.
The five-show run is much shorter than earlier reports suggested.
In July, SiriusXM host Eddie Trunk reportedly said on his show that sources told him the deal would cover 16 to 18 shows.
Lee and Lifeson are currently on their "Fifty Something" tour, which has sold more than 1 million tickets. Drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold will join them at Sphere. The tour continues in South America, the UK, and mainland Europe in early 2027.
