Key Takeaways

  • Public ticket sales open Oct. 30 on AXS.com.
  • Capital One cardholders will get exclusive packages in coming weeks.
  • Nadal's opponent, format, and broadcast partner are still unannounced.

Rafael Nadal is heading back to Las Vegas for a match on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2027. The 22-time Grand Slam champion will headline the MGM Slam Presented by Capital One at T-Mobile Arena. It will be his first match in Las Vegas since his 2024 exhibition against Carlos Alcaraz.

MGM Resorts International announced the event on Monday, Oct. 26. A presale for MGM Rewards and AXS members is underway. Public ticket sales open Friday, Oct. 30, at 10 a.m. PT. Nadal's opponent, the format, and a broadcast partner have yet to be announced.

How to Get MGM Slam Tickets at T-Mobile Arena

MGM Rewards and AXS members can buy presale tickets until Thursday, Oct. 29, at 10 p.m. PT.

That window opened Tuesday, Oct. 27, and closes early if tickets sell out. General sales begin Friday on AXS.com.

Capital One rewards cardholders will also be able to buy exclusive packages with cash or rewards. MGM said those packages will be available through Capital One Entertainment in the coming weeks.

T-Mobile Arena, a 20,000-seat venue on the Las Vegas Strip, will host the event again. The arena sits between Park MGM and New York-New York. It is also home to the NHL's Vegas Golden Knights.

Who Will Nadal Face, and Why Is He Returning?

Nadal has not revealed who he will face in February. His statement did offer one clue. He said he will play "against one of today's top players." MGM said it will soon name more players, the format, and a broadcast partner. Those announcements could affect demand for any remaining tickets.

Nadal, now 40, said the energy of a packed Las Vegas arena has stayed with him. This time, he said, he returns "without the pressure of the tour but with the same passion for this sport." He added: "I have always loved competing, and even if my professional career is finished, that feeling never really goes away."

Past Editions: From Nadal vs. Alcaraz to Joao Fonseca

The 2027 edition will mark the fourth straight year MGM Resorts has hosted the event. Nadal headlined the inaugural 2024 event, branded The Netflix Slam, against fellow Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz. The sold-out match streamed worldwide on Netflix, and Alcaraz won.

In 2026, eight ATP players competed in a fast-paced, 10-point tiebreaker format. Brazilian teenager Joao Fonseca beat American Reilly Opelka in the final to take the title.

Ryan Abboushi, MGM Resorts' president of entertainment, welcomed Nadal's return. Abboushi said Nadal's presence "elevates the entire event." Nadal, who won a record 14 French Open singles titles, also played an exhibition at his academy in Spain this month.
