PWHL Las Vegas Appoints Its First General Manager

The Professional Women's Hockey League has appointed Dominique DiDia as the first-ever general manager of PWHL Las Vegas. The announcement came just days after the league formally unveiled the expansion franchise on May 13 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. DiDia arrives from CAA Sports, where she built and co-led the agency's Women's Hockey Department.

Her appointment signals the PWHL's deepening commitment to the western United States as the league expands to 11 teams next season.

DiDia's Path from the Ice to the Front Office

DiDia's hockey career spans both the ice and the boardroom. She began her professional journey with the NHL's Los Angeles Kings in 2012. Over nine years, she rose to Director of Marketing and Content Publicity with the Kings. Alongside her Kings role, she coached and served on the board of the LA Lions Girls Hockey Club. In 2022, she joined CAA Sports as a marketing executive in the hockey department. There, she launched the agency's Women's Hockey Department and served as co-head. She worked with professional and amateur athletes on representation, marketing, and career development. She later became a certified agent for PWHL players following the league's launch.

PWHL Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Jayna Hefford praised the hire. "Dominique brings a unique combination of experience as a player, hockey executive, and advocate for the women's game," Hefford said. "She understands the evolving landscape of women's hockey and has a strong vision for building a team and culture that reflects both the ambition of the PWHL and the energy of the Las Vegas market. We're excited to have her leading this next chapter for our league." DiDia also played for the Cal Selects Girls Hockey Club and later captained her team at Trinity College.

Building a Team in One of Hockey's Hottest Markets

DiDia's first tasks include hiring hockey operations staff and constructing the inaugural roster. The 2026 PWHL Draft, set for June 17 in Detroit, will be an early milestone. "I am honored to help lead the launch of PWHL Las Vegas as we begin a new chapter for women's hockey in one of the most dynamic sports cities in the world," DiDia said. "Las Vegas has embraced hockey with a rare intensity, and you can feel that the game has become part of this city's heartbeat." Las Vegas joins Detroit and Hamilton, Ontario, as new PWHL franchises. The third Walter Cup Finals between the Montreal Victoire and Ottawa Charge is currently underway.
