Hard Rock Las Vegas Proposes New 2,000-Seat West Theater

Hard Rock is expanding its entertainment footprint at the Strip's massive $4 billion redevelopment project with a bold new proposal. The company has submitted blueprints to add a 2,000-seat theater to its former Mirage site, set to operate alongside existing venues. The new west theater will occupy approximately 179,000 square feet on the property's west side, offering what executives describe as a more intimate live entertainment experience. The Paradise Town Advisory Board will review the proposal at its June 30 meeting, with the Clark County Commission expected to vote in July.

Inside the West Theater's Layout and Design

The five-story structure will dedicate nearly 61,000 square feet exclusively to the auditorium seating area. An additional 67,465 square feet will serve as pre-function and backstage space, while back-of-house operations will occupy 37,940 square feet. Upper levels will include 12,778 square feet for technical infrastructure.

The venue will connect directly to an interior promenade, creating seamless pedestrian flow across the resort. A karaoke bar on the theater's second floor will add another entertainment option for guests. The layout demonstrates Hard Rock's focus on creating entertainment options that cater to different guest preferences and demographics. Its intimate setting is designed to complement the resort's other major entertainment venues.

How the Former Mirage's Theaters Are Being Converted

The new theater joins two conversions already underway at the former Mirage property. Once home to Cirque du Soleil's Beatles production for nearly 18 years, the LOVE Theater is being transformed into the 5,000-seat Hard Rock Live arena. The original Mirage Theater is being converted into a yet-to-be-announced concept venue.

Together, these three theaters will give Hard Rock guests entertainment experiences ranging from large-scale arena productions to intimate performances.

That variety of venue sizes allows Hard Rock to attract different artists and performance types throughout the year.

What the Completed Las Vegas Strip Resort Will Offer

When completed, the resort will feature approximately 3,700 hotel rooms, nearly 175,000 square feet of gaming space, two spas, multiple pools, dozens of restaurants and lounges, and retail outlets. The 660-foot Guitar Hotel tower, which recently completed its structural framework, will contain 675 rooms and suites. Hard Rock anticipates opening the property in late 2027 and generating approximately 6,000 employment opportunities for residents. The construction project represents one of the largest developments in recent Las Vegas history and marks the Strip's most significant transformation in two decades.
