Las Vegas Sphere to Welcome the New Year with Grand Celebration

Sphere Entertainment announced an upcoming New Year’s Eve celebration that promises to dazzle like nothing else as Las Vegas prepares to host “America’s Party 2025.” The show-stopping celebration will include fireworks lighting up the desert sky and musical entertainment from legendary performers in iconic venues across the city.

The Sin City landmark will feature custom content displayed on the world’s largest LED screen, following the celebrations in major cities worldwide. Presented by Lexus, the spectacle will show different time zones as the clock strikes midnight, climaxing with Las Vegas’ countdown to the new year.

Kicking Off with Sydney

Starting at 5.00 am PT on December 31^st, the iconic exosphere will display the festivities in Sydney, Australia, when they welcome 2025. Sphere will display art by the self-described “psychedelic math artist” UON Visuals. Major cities like Tokyo, Abu Dhabi, London, New York, and Denver will also have a countdown moment to the New Year throughout the day before the clock finally strikes midnight in Las Vegas.

The Star of the Show

Sphere will also be the official Las Vegas countdown to midnight as part of a citywide eight-minute fireworks spectacle. The fireworks will launch from nine iconic property rooftops, including Resorts World, MGM Grand, ARIA Resort & Casino, and Ceasars Palace.

Fireworks by Grucci will choreograph the extravaganza, featuring ornate designs like rainbow-colored fan comets and mushroom-shaped shells in hues mimicking the illuminating Las Vegas lights. The show will be accompanied by a soundtrack of iconic numbers like Mariah Carey’s “Old Lang Syne” and Panic! Hosted downtown, the event will commence at 7.00 pm and has performances lined up by seven bands, starting with the legendary rapper Flo Rida. Plaza Hotel & Casino will also have a fireworks display to complement the vibrant Strip show.
