Resorts World Las Vegas Partners with Zoox for Free Rides

Resorts World Las Vegas has partnered with Zoox, the autonomous vehicle company owned by Amazon. The deal, struck in May 2025, offers complimentary robotaxi rides to resort guests. Resorts World became the first Las Vegas property to partner with Zoox at the company's public launch. The resort built a dedicated pickup hub at its south port cochere. Company leaders say the partnership blends cutting-edge mobility with the hospitality guests expect from Resorts World's Hilton, Conrad, and Crockfords brands.

Building the Resorts World Las Vegas Zoox Partnership

Resorts World Vice President of Operations Shannon McCallum toured Zoox's San Francisco operation a few years before the partnership formed. She was impressed by the technology but warned Zoox representatives that relationship-building mattered in Las Vegas. "You just can't come in and launch something and think that it's going to be well received," McCallum said.

Zoox began mapping Las Vegas streets in 2019, laying groundwork for the eventual rollout. Michael White, Zoox's Chief Product Officer, said the company and Resorts World share a focus on superior customer experiences. McCallum noted Resorts World was the first property to build a dedicated hub for the service. The companies have called it the first such deal between a robotaxi operator and a Las Vegas resort.

Inside the Zoox Robotaxi Experience in Las Vegas

Zoox vehicles are purpose-built for driverless ride-hailing. They have no front, back, steering wheel, or pedals. Passengers sit in carriage-style seating that holds up to four riders. Rides are booked through the Zoox app, which works like other ride-hailing platforms. Service in Las Vegas is destination-specific, covering Resorts World, AREA15, T-Mobile Arena, the Sphere, the Las Vegas Convention Center, and most major Strip hotels. Zoox is also testing routes at Harry Reid International Airport. The service already operates in San Francisco and will soon expand to Austin and Miami. Before opening to the public, Zoox invited Resorts World team members to experience rides firsthand. McCallum said this helped staff speak knowledgeably with curious guests.

Zoox Safety Record and Guest Reception in Las Vegas

No accidents involving Zoox vehicles have been reported in Las Vegas. The main issue has been human drivers failing to yield, occasionally causing backups during left turns. Police can communicate directly with a Zoox operator monitoring rides to address concerns. Rides remain complimentary to encourage adoption and ease guest hesitation.

Younger travelers and social media influencers have embraced the service, along with tech-interested riders.

McCallum said the appeal spans generations. "I have seen older couples that have some time, and they are interested," she said, describing families, couples, and out-of-state friends trying the robotaxis together.
