Key Takeaways

  • Winvia will develop and operate Aston Villa’s official Villa Win competition
  • The agreement is the first major B2B deployment of BOTB’s prize draw technology
  • Revenue generated could support club development and community programmes

Winvia Entertainment has agreed a partnership with Premier League club Aston Villa to create Villa Win, an official club-branded prize draw competition for supporters. The AIM-listed operator will supply the platform and oversee the operational, technical and compliance requirements behind the draws. Fans will be offered regular opportunities to win Aston Villa-themed prizes and experiences, while the club will gain a new engagement channel and revenue stream. The launch is also the first major business-to-business deployment of Winvia’s prize draw technology through its BOTB brand.

Villa Win to extend supporter engagement

Villa Win will offer supporters regular opportunities to enter competitions for club-themed prizes and fan experiences.

The competition will initially target Aston Villa supporters in the UK, although Winvia has identified the potential to expand the concept internationally. Further details about the prizes, entry process and launch date are expected to be announced in due course.

Winvia will manage the competition on Aston Villa’s behalf, providing the technology platform and operational infrastructure required to process entries and administer the draws.

Francesco Calvo, Aston Villa’s president of business operations, said the partnership would give the club another way to interact with supporters. Revenue generated through Villa Win could be reinvested in club activities. This will include Aston Villa’s community programmes.

First major B2B deployment for BOTB

The agreement represents the first major B2B deployment of the prize draw technology used by BOTB, one of Winvia’s two UK prize competition brands.

Winvia will oversee Villa Win’s technical, operational and compliance requirements. This will allow Aston Villa to offer its own branded competitions without needing to build the supporting platform and systems internally.

The operator believes the same partner-led model could be applied to other football clubs and sporting organisations with established supporter bases.

“We are confident that this model has the potential to scale across other clubs and sports organisations.”

Gil Barel, Winvia’s head of strategic partnerships and M&A, said the agreement showed how the company could introduce its platform to new channels. He described Aston Villa as a powerful brand with a highly engaged supporter base.

Partnership supports Winvia’s post-IPO strategy

Winvia began trading on the London Stock Exchange’s AIM market in November 2025. The admission raised £40 million and valued the company at approximately £205 million.

The group operates in the UK through BOTB and Click Competitions. It also owns several Romanian online gaming brands, including Princess Casino, Luck and Royal Slots.

While Winvia has traditionally operated its prize draws directly for consumers, Villa Win adds a partner-led channel to its growth strategy. The company will be able to use its existing infrastructure to serve sporting organisations while gaining access to their established audiences.

The operator expects this B2B model to become an increasingly important part of its long-term expansion plans.

Villa Win to follow voluntary prize draw code

Winvia said Villa Win would operate in accordance with the government’s Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators.

The code applies to prize draws offering both paid and genuine free entry routes. Qualifying competitions do not require a Gambling Commission licence, provided they meet the requirements of the Gambling Act 2005.

Introduced by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the voluntary framework includes standards covering transparency, accessible free-entry options, player protection and the use of credit cards. Its provisions took full effect for participating operators in May 2026.

BOTB was among the founding signatories. Winvia’s decision to apply the code to Villa Win is intended to provide the same safeguards when its technology is deployed through a sporting partner.
