Key Takeaways

  • Alberta drives 12% of revenue, targeting 27% by late 2027.
  • Active players across both provinces rose 28% from Q2.
  • Ontario market share tops 20% despite 12% ad spend cut.

Betty Canada posted record net revenue of US$111 million in the third quarter of 2026. That figure was up 23% from the US$90.2 million reported in Q2. The quarter was also the slots operator's first in Alberta's regulated iGaming market.

By September 30, Alberta already accounted for 12% of Betty Canada's revenue. The company expects that share to reach 27% by the end of 2027. Active players across Ontario and Alberta rose 28% quarter over quarter. CEO Chavdar Dimitrov shared the results in the company's Q3 update.

Alberta Launch Brings 42,831 Depositors and Rising Retention

Betty entered Alberta on July 13, the same day the province opened its regulated online gambling market. The operator recorded 42,831 new depositors in the province during Q3. That total included more than 10,000 sign-ups from pre-launch campaigns. Net revenue per active Alberta player rose about 18% from August to September.

August was Betty's first full month in the province, and its player base there has matured since then.

Retained players rose from 48% of that base in August to 62% in September. In Ontario, a more established market, the comparable figure is 90%.

Betty also says early competitive data shows it holds a significant share of the Alberta market.

Betty Grows Ontario Depositors 6% Despite Lower Ad Spend

Ontario remains Betty's largest market by revenue. The operator says it now holds more than 20% of the province's online casino market. Even so, Betty cut its Ontario advertising spend by 12% from Q2.

Organic sign-ups more than offset the drop in paid acquisition, lifting new Ontario depositors 6% to 56,702. "Our teams continue to meticulously focus on retention as a driver for future revenue," the company said in its Q3 update. Net revenue per active player across both provinces hit a 2026 high in July, then topped it again in August.

What's Next for Betty in Alberta's Fast-Growing Market

Betty calls Alberta its "most immediate and tangible growth opportunity." The operator plans to roll out its full range of LiveOps gamification features there in Q4 2026.

Official data shows the wider Alberta market has grown every month since launch. The Alberta iGaming Corporation reported C$56.6 million in non-adjusted gross gaming revenue for September, up 30.7% from August. Operator numbers have nearly doubled, from 15 at launch to 29 by October.

Earlier this year, Betty said it could pursue local partnerships in Alberta. The company also floated the idea of a physical presence in Western Canada.
