Key Takeaways
- Evolution already helped create several Monopoly-themed online casino games
- New games are planned to be released in January 2026
- In joining Rhode Island, Evolution has a presence in all seven legal iGaming states
Evolution AB is off to a busy start in July, securing a partnership with Monopoly owner Hasbro and gaming company Bally’s Corporation for entry into the Rhode Island online casino market.
The Hasbro deal will allow Evolution to develop and publish online casino games utilizing Hasbro’s brand and games. That includes Monopoly, Mouse Trap, The Game of Life, Scrabble, Risk, and more.
Evolution will also be allowed to offer online slot machine and live-dealer table games in Rhode Island thanks to its partnership with Bally’s, which owns and operates one of the state’s two retail casinos and the state’s online casino.
Continuation of a working relationship
Evolution and Hasbro previously worked together to develop games using Monopoly’s likeness, including Monopoly Live and Monopoly Big Baller.
Hasbro selected its partner after a successful Request for Proposal process, which solicits bids from potential partners.
"After a thorough RFP process, we’ve chosen Evolution as our exclusive partner for online live casino and online slots for Hasbro Games titles,” Hasbro's Director of Gaming Relationships, Clair Hunter Gregon, said. “We trust them to bring our brands to life in fresh, exciting ways for our adult fans and look forward to our partnership.”
Evolution’s Chief Product Officer, Todd Haushalter, said the company will focus on Monopoly as it continues to develop its offerings.
In addition to developing new products, Hasbro and Evolution will also receive marketing opportunities through each other’s brands. The multi-year is expected to result in the first release of new games such as Monopoly Roulette and Monopoly Filthy Rich in January 2026.
Hasbro previously said that more than one billion people have played the Monopoly board game. Global entertainment company Scopely also said that more than 50,000 people pass Go every minute on Monopoly Go, a mobile app version of the game.
Gaining access to a new state
With Evolution now an official Bally’s partner in Rhode Island, it will be allowed to offer its online slot titles on the Bally’s Casino platform.
Rhode Island is one of just seven states that authorize legal online casino gaming, giving Evolution a rare opportunity in a growing market.
“This agreement represents a significant step forward for both Evolution and Bally’s Corporation. We’re thrilled to deepen our collaboration with Bally’s by delivering world-class gaming experiences and extend our reach into Rhode Island, a first for Evolution,” said CEO of Evolution North America, Jacob Claesson, in a press release. “This partnership showcases our shared commitment to driving innovation and providing exceptional entertainment for players.”
With the Rhode Island deal secured, evolution now has a presence in all seven states with legal iGaming.
As an added bonus, Bally’s online casino customers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania will also gain access to Bally’s live dealer blackjack tables run by Evolution. These tables will appear in the Bally Bet Casino app.
Evolution also recently unveiled new slot machine games in both states, increasing its presence and nationwide reputation.
Rhode Island’s online casino market showed significant recent growth. The state regulator reported $129.1 million in wagers in May, which was more than twice as much as was reported during the same time one year ago.
