New Hampshire Casino Donates Record $2.4 Million to Nonprofits

A New England-area casino made a record-$2.4 million donation to a dozen nonprofit organizations.

The Nash in Nashua, New Hampshire, released a statement confirming its donation to a variety of charitable foundations. These donations were made in rotating five- and 10-day cycles, based on the state’s charity casino model.

The seven-figure amount narrowly beat out the previous record of $2.3 million.

New Hampshire casino helps nonprofits

New Hampshire requires commercial land-based casinos to maintain partnerships with local nonprofit organizations. At least 35% of gross gaming revenue from games of chance and historical horse racing must be allocated to rotating charities, with another 10% helping to fund public education. 

The Nash, one of 14 charitable casinos in New Hampshire, only opened its doors for the first time on March 5, 2025. The casino’s website calls it “New Hampshire’s largest entertainment destination,” conveniently located in the popular Pheasant Lane Mall, which is on the Massachusetts border and is about 40 minutes from Boston.

“We at The Nash could not be happier that these worthy nonprofits, each caring for their communities through their various missions, can benefit from our record-setting month of charitable contributions,” said The Nash General Manager Eric Althaus. “We are always looking for ways to be more inclusive and partner with more nonprofits.”

The previous $2.3 million record was also set by The Nash in March 2026 during its one-year anniversary of operations. The casino generated approximately $28.3 million in donations for charities during its first year-and-a-third of business.

$15.8 million of the donations occurred in 2026, meaning that the casino already beat its 2025 total and is barreling toward a new 12-month record. The Nash also claimed it sent nearly $2.3 million in donations in June.

Community benefit

The Nash reduced its rotating partnership schedule from seven- to five-day increments in Dec. 2025, claiming that the move would allow the casino to share its funds with more charities.

Organizations that received allocations during June included Advocates Building Lasting Equality in New Hampshire, which advocates for the rights of children and adults with disabilities, the veterans group James E. Coffey American Legion Post 3, the Nashua Community Music School, New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition, Hudson Community Food Pantry and Greater Nashua Mental Health Center. Groups received $196,000-229,000. 

The payment to Greater Nashua Mental Health Center was especially beneficial, as it recently suffered losses during a natural gas explosion and fire at its Amherst location. The Center said it provides $1.5 million in uncompensated care annually. 

“We serve over 5,000 patients each year,” Chief Operating Officer Maureen Ryan said in a statement. “We are grateful for the support from The Nash, ensuring thousands of community members continue to gain access to high-quality behavioral health care, regardless of their ability to pay.”

The Nash offers more than 1,000 gaming machines, including live-dealer table games, including blackjack, roulette, baccarat, Jackpot Hold’Em, and more. It also has slot machines, a DraftKings sportsbook, food and dining options, and nearby hotel partners.
