  • Which casino game will you never play?

    Any slot with a low return to player (RTP) percentage. The house always wins anyways, but I don’t play games that are skewed too far its way. Most slots have an average RTP between 94-98%. I avoid anything too far outside of that range.

  • When you're not writing, what do you usually do?

    I’m a die-hard sports fan, so when I’m not writing, I’m watching sports. Soccer is my favourite sport, but I also follow the NBA, NFL, and pretty much anything else that’s on.

  • What’s a fun fact people might not know about you?

    I spent three months on the small island of Graciosa in the Portuguese Azores living in an old windmill that had been refurbished into an apartment.

  • What's an often-overlooked feature that can make or break an online casino?

    It’s not a feature exactly, but I think people often overlook wagering requirements. A generous bonus offer can become practically worthless if it has a high wagering requirement. I always recommend people read the fine print before claiming any bonus offer.

  • How do you keep track of Canadian online casino industry news?

    Google alerts are very helpful for this, but I also regularly check government agency websites and the casino sites’ news pages for updates. They are usually the first places to break major news stories.
