Key Takeaways

  • FanDuel and BetMGM dominated the market with $75.5 million and $70.3 million in monthly revenue
  • DraftKings experienced another strong year-over-year decline in revenue
  • Michigan is expected to eclipse $3 billion in iGaming tax payments since market launch next month

The Michigan online casino market just capped off its third-best month in the state’s history.

The latest report from the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) showed that the state’s iGaming industry produced $303.4 million in revenue in April, a 22.3 percent increase on the April 2025 total. The only months with larger totals occurred in March ($322.1 million) and Dec. 2025 ($315.8 million).

State and local governments received a combined $82.9 million in tax contributions.

FanDuel and BetMGM led all operators in productivity during April, producing nearly twice as much as the third-place operator, DraftKings.

FanDuel claimed $75.5 million in monthly revenue, marking an 11.7 percent year-over-year chance. BetMGM was close behind with $70.3 million in revenue, which was also up a strong 8.2 percent.

DraftKings didn’t have the same fortunes. The gaming giant's $38.5 million in monthly iGaming revenue was down 9.5 percent on the $42.5 million it reported to the MGCB in April 2025.

BetRivers, Hard Rock Bet, and Fanatics — the next three companies in line — all enjoyed extreme growth compared to the previous year. BetRivers ($23.3 million) was up 43.3 percent YoY; Hard Rock ($20.4 million) jumped an enormous 3,086.5% after taking over for the outgoing SI; and Fanatics ($20.3 million) more than doubled its total with 126.3% YoY growth.

Caesars Palace and Golden Nugget were the only other operators to clear $10 million in monthly revenue at $16.5 million and $10.6 million, respectively. The totals were up three and 45 percent.

Five of the seven remaining Michigan online casino operators reported year-over-year improvements. The only two that didn’t finished at the bottom of the MGCB’s report, with $2.3 and $2.1 million in monthly revenue.

Standouts and milestones

One operator not mentioned above was bet365 Casino, which launched in place of PokerStars on April 17. Despite not getting the full monthly window, the operator reported $3.7 million in revenue, up from the $2.3 million reported by PokerStars in April 2025.

At bet365’s 30-day pace, the operator would’ve reached $8.6 million in revenue. That total would’ve finished ninth and represented a 280 percent YoY improvement.

Of the $82.9 million in gaming taxes that were collected, $60.7 million was paid to the state. The remaining $22.2 million was allocated to city and local jurisdictions.

If all goes according to plan, the MGCB’s May report should confirm that Michigan online casinos have paid more than $3 billion in taxes. Operators only need to combine to produce $73 million, about 12 percent of the April total, to eclipse the threshold for the first time since the market launched in Jan. 2021.

Michigan is one of only eight states that have legalized online casino gaming, which includes slot machines and other common retail casino amenities.

However, with the national trend of sports betting and the growing prevalence of prediction trading, online casinos are positioned to spread to new states looking to increase their gaming tax hauls.
