Key Takeaways
- Polymarket partnered with Genius Sports to enhance its U.S. prediction markets
- The deal includes official sports data, live streaming rights, and integrity services
- The partnership takes effect immediately and covers selected official competitions
According to a press release from Genius Sports, a real-time sports data outfit, it has agreed to a deal with Polymarket, one of the most renowned prediction market platforms today.
This partnership will provide "exclusive streaming rights and league IP across selected official competitions, alongside official data and integrity services for Polymarket’s CFTC-regulated U.S. platform."
In essence, this deal will allow Polymarket traders in the United States to access exclusive live streaming of specific events, such as Serie A. Additionally, the data provided by Genius Sports will be used to determine the outcome and settlement of sports contracts, ensuring that "each market resolves using the same verified event information supplied to professional leagues."
Partnership Adds Live Streaming and Integrity Services
While prediction markets have been a hotbed for legal conversations and dilemmas, including Nevada Rep. Dina Titus speaking out against them on multiple occasions and states such as Kentucky filing lawsuits against Polymarket and more, this deal will expand the prediction market platform as they now begin to offer real-time live streaming alongside real-time contract trading.
The release also mentioned that Polymarket will be part of Genius Sports' "integrity information-sharing process," which gives leagues and governing bodies in states insight and visibility into activity done at Polymarket and "enabling real-time coordination around irregular trading patterns."
"Trust, transparency and innovation are fundamental to the long-term development of sports prediction markets," said Ari Borod, President of Sports Business Development at Polymarket. "Live streaming, official data and integrity infrastructure play an important role in establishing an engaging product that customers can depend on. Our partnership with Genius Sports gives professional leagues direct visibility into prediction market activity around their competitions and reflects the standard we hold across every official league relationship we build."
Polymarket Expands Sports Partnerships
This is one of the latest sports-based partnerships Polymarket has alongside professional leagues such as MLB, Liga MX, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, MLS, NHL, and UFC.
“Prediction markets are emerging as an important new way for fans to engage with live sports,” said Sean Conroy, EVP of Rights and Partnerships at Genius Sports. “As the category continues to grow, robust integrity safeguards are not simply optional; they are foundational. By bringing together official data, live streaming, league IP, integrity services and the reach of our Legend media network, we are helping Polymarket deliver a differentiated and trusted experience for sports fans across the U.S.”
This deal will take effect immediately.
