Kane Purdy Appointed Chair of Betting and Gaming Council

Kane Purdy has been appointed Chair of the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) with immediate effect. The move marks a leadership change at the UK betting industry’s main standards body.

Purdy currently serves as Managing Director at Gamesys Operations Limited and has over 20 years of experience across the betting and iGaming sector. He is replacing Michael Dugher, who stepped down earlier this year after six years in the role.

The BGC chair role rotates annually among member organisations. The council represents a large share of the regulated UK gambling market. This includes online operators, retail betting, bingo and casino businesses.

Purdy has been involved in several cross-industry initiatives alongside his role at Gamesys. This includes serving as Chair of GamProtect, which is a programme focused on building a single customer view framework.
