The Top Five Beach Casinos

Beach-Casino

Are you torn between Las Vegas and the Caribbean for your annual holiday? Do you love the thrill of the casino, but yearn for some fun in the sun? Are you torn between the Roulette table and the beach bar happy hour?

No problem. Our highly trained team of casino connoisseurs have trawled the globe in search of the very hottest spots where gambling and surf make for happy (sun)bedfellows. So, grab that sun block, the beginners guide to Blackjack, and get ready to roll some winners and work that tan.

5. Casino Filipino Cebu – Philippines

Pristine white sand, pork adobo, and an archipelago of more than 160 islands. The Philippine province of Cebu is one of the few places outside of Manila where you can enjoy a little action at the tables. The Casino Filipino is a modern Asian-style casino with 100s of slots and electronic machines. There are also Live Dealer tables where you can enjoy a little Baccarat and Blackjack.

The casino is on the top floor of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino and only a stone’s throw from the beach. In 2019, plans to open a new $500 million casino resort on the popular tourist island of Boracay were scrapped because of opposition to the development. Watch this space, however, as Hong Kong casino resort developers Galaxy Entertainment is still trying to sell its vision.

4. Mindil Beach Casino – Australia

Head south to Australia and the Mindil Beach Casino resort. Located on the west-facing Arafura Sea, it’s Darwin’s only five-star beachfront resort, nestled in 30 acres of tropical gardens. The hotel boasts a swim up bar, infinity pool, four restaurants, and more than 150 rooms.

It’s also heaven for the hungry casino player, with more than 600 electronic gaming machines and 30 table games; all available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Action on offer includes poker, Texas Hold’em, Roulette, Blackjack, Snake Eyes, Casino War, Free Bet Blackjack, and more. VIPs can access the resort’s Arafura Room for high limit action and stunning views.

3. Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort & Spa – Gran Canaria

To Europe now, and the Canary Islands, home of the Lopesa Costa Meloneras Resort and Spa. As well as being a Scrabble-winning triple word score, the palatial Gran Canaria-based hotel is one of the most exclusive resorts on the island, with a distinctively colonial vibe and a photogenic setting.

The Lopesan boasts six pools (including a 102-metre-long infinity pool), a volcanic spa, 2,000 palm trees, and a casino. The casino is home to a selection of slots, as well as tables for American Roulette, Poker, and Blackjack. Guests must be 18 or over to play. The hotel aims to please a wealthy clientele so get ready to roll deep when you take a seat at the tables.

2. Hard Rock Hotel and Casino – Punta Cana

It would have been very easy to simply pick all our beach casinos from the Caribbean. From Antigua and Aruba, to the Barbuda and the Virgin Islands, nearly every island has a casino to go with the red snapper and pumpkin pie. But it’s the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Punta Cana that earns the Dominican Republic second place in our top five.

Everything about the hotel is larger and louder than life. From the chance to jam in a rock band and hire a Fender guitar, to 13 pools and 4 swim up bars, the Hard Rock has set the volume to 11. Not surprisingly, the casino is one of the biggest in the Caribbean with 40 tables games and 450 slots. Games in play include evergreens like Roulette, Poker, and Blackjack, as well as Craps, Let it Ride, and three card Poker. There’s even a VIP area where you can enjoy top shelf liquors and a hand-rolled cigar.

1. Atlantis – Bahamas

Finally: our winner. All the hotels in our top 5 are on the beach. Unfortunately, in most cases, betting en plein air is just not allowed. However, pack your bags and head to the Bahamas Atlantis, Paradise Island, and the Blackjack outlook is sunny. This is the hotel where you can both bet red and turn red at the same time.

The resort has 6 different accommodation areas which all surround a 62-hectare waterscape. Spanning the lagoon is the world-class Atlantis Casino with 85 gaming tables and more than 700 slots and electronic gaming machines.

Gaming at the Cove is the win-win. The Cove Pool has sun loungers, DJs, day beds, and cabanas with a view of the ocean. You can also enjoy al fresco Craps and Blackjack in an outdoor gaming pavilion. If it’s betting fun in the sun that floats your inflatable, this is where the action starts and the sun sets.
