Q&A with Dan Moran

  • What’s your favorite sport to watch or play, and why?

    I got the golf bug hard over the last two years, and it’s fair to say I’m addicted. It’s like playing a game in a mirror - endlessly challenging.

  • What inspired you to write about sports/gaming?

    I wanted to be a sportswriter when I was a kid, and an uncle of mine taught me how to read lines when I was 7. Add in a couple of poker experiences, and the rest is history. 

  • Which athlete or team do you admire the most?

    I’m so excited about the Chicago Bears with Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson together.

  • What’s a favorite sports memory?

    I lived near Wrigley Field during the 2016 World Series run. It was a magical time to live in Chicago and be a Cubs fan.

  • What was your best poker memory?

    I took a shot in a game above my bankroll when I was in college and cleared enough in that session to set myself up permanently at lower stakes and take a trip to Tunica. The drive home felt like I was floating on air.
