Key Takeaways
- Freddy is a regular German traveler who grew famous for documenting his travels across America
- Stadium Swim is a massive rooftop outdoor venue that hosts watch parties for sports events
- Derek Stevens owns three Las Vegas casinos and a prominent sportsbook
The owner of several prominent Las Vegas casinos is offering a VIP experience to a European traveler who is traversing America for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Derek Stevens, owner of Circa Sports and the Golden Gate, Circa, and The D casinos, offered to send a private jet to pick up an X (Twitter user) known as “FreddyLA7,” who has gained popularity while documenting his trip from Germany to the U.S.
Stevens also invited “Freddy” and his friends to a watch party at Stadium Swim, a public pool and viewing area that plays popular sports events on a massive screen.
Taking a trip to Stadium Swim
Stevens sent his invitation to “Freddy” via X on Monday afternoon. He noted in the post that no trip to America was “legit” without making a stop in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“I’ll send the [Circa Las Vegas] jet to pick you & friends up in OKC to attend our [USA soccer] Watch Party [at Stadium Swim],” Stevens wrote.
Stadium Swim sits on the deck roof of the Circa Resort & Casino on the Vegas strip. It includes six heated pools, two spas, two swim-up bars, and a 143-foot high-definition screen that shows ongoing sports matches.
The pools are spread across three levels and set at different temperatures. There are also cabanas, more than 330 lounge chairs, water couches, suites, additional food and beverage locations, and state-of-the-art speakers, which DJs regularly use to crank out music sets.
Stadium Swim — which opened in Oct. 2020 — will host its watch party for the USA’s match against Australia on Friday. While the game won’t kick off until 12:00 local time, the doors will open at 8:00 a.m., and pre-match events will begin at 9:00 a.m.
Stevens' casinos recently wrapped up an at-par promotion for Canadian guests, during which customers could use Canadian currency without exchanging it for American dollars, thereby saving them a solid chunk of change.
Freddy’s American travels
Stevens’ kindhearted gesture is the latest in a series of multiple once-in-a-lifetime experiences offered to “Freddy,” the most recent of which was an all-expenses-paid stay at a Houston hotel. Former Houston Texans star JJ Watt paid for the room and also stocked it with food, a signed jersey, and various gift items.
The anonymous German was also granted the opportunity to meet country music star Ella Langley after her concert in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on Thursday. “Freddy” shared that he fell in love with her music while listening to the car radio during his trip through the southeastern part of the U.S.
One day after sharing his affinity for Langley, “Freddy” posted a video of a Louisiana radio station discussing his trip before playing the Alabama native’s music as a tribute. Langley later posted that she had sent “Freddy” a private message.
On June 12, Freddy and his friends were given a private tour of the New Orleans Saints’ and New Orleans Pelicans’ facilities. And appropriately, he and his friends made it to NRG Stadium in Houston on Sunday to watch Germany beat Curaçao, 7-1.
If Freddy accepts Stevens’ trip to Las Vegas, he will get to enjoy the “world’s largest sports book,” which features a multi-level viewing experience and a 78-million-pixel screen. Guests can also play live-dealer table games, slot machines, and other casino games, or bet on the in-house Circa Sportsbook.
If anything is going to get in the way of Freddy and his cohorts getting to Las Vegas, it would presumably be the German soccer team’s schedule. They are in action the following day against the Ivory Coast at BMO Field in Toronto, Canada, about a four-and-a-half-hour flight away from America’s gambling capital.
