Key Takeaways
- Hard Rock Bet online casino is currently in four of seven legal iGaming states
- Michigan online casinos generated $2.4 billion in gross receipts in 2024
- The Hannahville Indian Community was left without a partner after SI (888) shut down earlier this year
Hard Rock Bet is expected to launch its online casino in Michigan later this year.
According to the operator’s website, “Hard Rock Bet hopes to bring its top-rated online casino app to Michigan.” The belief is that the company will soon turn that into a reality and add to a portfolio that includes legal jurisdictions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey and Rhode Island.
Although users in The Great Lakes State cannot use the app just yet, Hard Rock has provided a clear description of the different offers and games they can expect to gain access to.
Waiting for approval
Michigan’s gaming laws allow for up to 15 licensed online casino operators, one for each of its land-based casinos.
The Hannahville Indian Community – which owns and operates Island Resort & Casino – possessed a license but lost its partner, SI (888), which chose to shut down its sportsbook and gambling operations. That meant it was free to obtain a new partner, provided it received approval from the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB).
Hard Rock Bet is currently in the process of receiving approval so that it can launch in its fifth state.
Although the state might not carry the same weight as Nevada or New Jersey, two of America's largest gambling markets, the Michigan iGaming industry has been very lucrative. Operators reported a record $2.4 billion in gross receipts during 2024, a 27.1 percent increase from the total reported in 2023.
Revenue eclipsed $200 million in four straight months to close the year, including a record $244 million in December.
Hard Rock Bet Michigan expectations
As Hard Rock Bet awaits a decision from the MGCB, its website has provided an outline of what it would add to the state’s gaming market.
Customers must be 21 or older and located inside state lines to participate in any online casino gaming through Michigan operators. Users do not have to be Michigan residents and can be temporary guests.
Hard Rock Bet New Jersey offers new customers a promotion that includes $25 in bonuses and a 100% deposit match up to $1000. Recurring users can also gain access to festivals, competitions, and the Daily Mystery Wheel. The website said to “stay tuned” for information regarding new offers from Michigan online casino customers, pending MGCB approval.
Hard Rock Bet is equipped to handle a slew of different online casino games, including slot machines, jackpot slots, blackjacks, baccarat, roulette, video pokes, craps, live-dealer games, and more.
Games were made with the help of a variety of developers, including IGT, Light and Wonder, and High 5, among others. Several games are exclusive to Hard Rock Bet.
Customers who create Hard Rock Bet accounts are automatically enrolled in the operator’s rewards programs, which can be redeemed online or at in-person Hard Rock properties.
