G2 Esports, EDward Gaming Advance at VALORANT Masters Bangkok

With the first round of the VALORANT Masters Bangkok has come to a close as EDward Gaming and G2 Esports deliver wins. 

EDward Gaming beat T1; G2 Esports beat Team Vitality. 

Now, they’ve advanced to the upper finals. As for T1 and Team Vitality, they’ll duke it out in a lower bracket to see who can remain in the tournament. 

In other VALORANT news, Team Heretics and CGN Esports agreed to pact centered around the game. 

About EDward Gaming’s Win

EDward Gaming had a close matchup against T1. It took three maps, with the final being Pearl. T1 held a two-round lead, but EDward Gaming won four straight rounds thanks to Wan “CHICHOO” Shunzhi. 

“I think my confidence comes from our whole team—my teammates help me, their in-game actions enable my plays. Even when I want to take risks, they support me, which allows me to perform well individually,” CHICHOO said. 

In all, he had 72 kills in the series. 

About G2 Esports Win

G2 Esports and Team Vitality was a matchup worth waiting for. 

On the first map, it went to overtime, and G2 won 15-13. 

Then, on Lotus, G2 came away with another win for a clean 2-0 sweep. 

“It sucks to lose, but I think the healthiest thing that could have happened since this team started was us losing in an official match. Yeah, as simple as that,” Team Vitality’s Saif ‘Sayf‘ Jibraeel said in a press conference.

What’s Next

EDward Gaming and G2 Esports will now compete in the Upper Finals in the VALORANT Masters in Bangkok on Feb. 28 10 am GMT. The match will be streamed live on Twitch and YouTube through VCT.
