After eight months on FaZe Clan's Counter-Strike 2 roster, the esports squad has decided to bench Jonathan ‘EliGE‘ Jablonowski.
In the aftermath of that, the team has signed Jakub ‘jcobbb‘ Pietruszewski from Betclic Apogee, another esports team.
This roster move is the third FaZe Clan has made this year.
In May, AWPer Helvijs ‘broky’ Saukants was also benched in favor of Oleksandr 'S1mple' Kostyliev. Kostyliev played for the team at IEM Dallas and the BLAST.tv Austin Major.
S1mple left the team for BC.Game, though. As a result, broky returned to the lineup in July.
“We have mutually come to the decision for EliGE to be moved to the bench and out of our active lineup,” FaZe Clan said on social media.
“End of a chapter now, and will be starting a new one coming soon,” added EliGE.
FaZe Clan had a disappointing appearance at the Esports World Cup, losing to Aurora Gaming 2-1.
jcobbb spent the last 10 months with Betclic Apogee. In July, the squad earned a top-eight placing at Fragadelphia 19.
With the Esports World Cup elimination, FaZe Clan is now set for the closed qualifiers for BLAST Open London. That starts on Aug. 27.
jcobbb will make his debut.
After that, FaZe Clan is set for FISSURE Playground 2 in Serbia.
jcobbb has victories over The MongolZ and Astralis in the past, which certainly bodes well as he has limited experience against the top teams in the world.
