Mary J. Blige to Debut 1st Vegas Residency as Tesla Rolls Out Robovans in Loop

Mary J. Blige will cement her legacy on the Strip with a debut 2026 residency at Park MGM’s Dolby Live, staging 10 shows of “My Life, My Story” across May and July dates. The R&B icon, whose powerhouse vocals and bold aesthetic align with Vegas’ tradition of spectacle, joins a lineage of residency headliners, including Janet Jackson, Elvis Presley, and Frank Sinatra. The residency announcement comes on the heels of her critically acclaimed 15^th album, “Gratitude”.

Beneath the city’s glittering surface, Tesla’s autonomous 20-seat Robovans prepare to join the Vegas loop. The Boring Company’s tunnel network will deploy these electric SUVs to maximize passenger traffic.

Blige’s Vegas Milestone

The R&B legend brings her catalog to Dolby Live this spring, fresh off a career-defining stretch that saw her inducted into the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, an album release, and 2025’s arena tour that sold 270,000 tickets.

With nine Grammys and 80 million records sold, Blige described the show as a full-circle moment.

“I’ve been so excited to announce this Vegas residency,” Blige stated during the announcement. “Creating a show like this has been something I’ve always wanted to do. It’s a chance to get my fans together from all over—different cities, states, and countries—to experience something together.”

Her production promises theatrical storytelling alongside staples like “Be Without You” and “Family Affair”, aiming to unite generations of fans. Tickets for the dates are priced from $287, with presales starting today.

Vegas Loop Plans

While The Boring Co. unveiled plans for Tesla’s 20-passenger Robovans, they remain conceptual with no production timeline.

Designed for high-capacity transit during events like Allegiant Stadium games, the vehicles aim to optimize the 68-mile underground system slated for completion between 2028 and 2029.

Elon Musk explained the vision at a 2024 LA event, stating, “We want to change the look of the roads… The future should look like the future.” The Loop is currently limited to single-car Teslas, and its eventual 104-station footprint will prioritize these shuttles to streamline mass travel.

Suburban Ambitions

Boring Co. eyes suburban expansion after the Vegas loop completion, with President Steve Davis outlining plans for one-mile demo tunnels in Henderson and Summerlin. While floating hyperloop concepts for Vegas-Phoenix/Reno routes, Davis acknowledged they were still speculative. Current airport shuttle trails remain limited to 50 daily riders across four stations.
