In Online Blackjack the table consists of one to five playing spots around a table. Each player play several hands at a time.
Place a bet, by adding chips to the betting area facing your particular playing position. The online Blackjack dealer then deals a pair of face up cards to each of the playing positions. The dealer then takes two cards, one face-up and one hidden (the ‘Hole’ card). When playing online Blackjack the subsequent cards are dealt automatically.
Your dealer will not disclose his ‘Hole’ card to any player until each player has played their hand, by either ‘Standing’ (deciding to receive no additional cards), or ‘Busting’ (surpassing 21 and losing the hand).
The aim of Blackjack is to finish with a combined card score higher than the dealer’s while not exceeding the magic 21. All of the face cards (Kings, Queens, and Jacks) equal 10, while Aces count as either 1 or 11.
Following the dealer deals, each player, beginning with the first player to the dealer’s left, can choose to ‘Hit’ (receiving another card to add to his total) or ‘Stand’ (taking no further action). Based on the first two cards, players can also ‘Double’ (doubling the wager and taking only one further card), or ‘Split’ (creating two hands from a pair). If the dealer's face-up card is an Ace, then players can purchase ‘Insurance’ which protects their bet against the dealer getting Blackjack.
Once each player has either decided to ‘Stand’ or has ‘Busted’, the dealer uncovers his ‘Hole’ card. The dealer must then deal himself cards until his hand values 17 or more, when he has to ‘Stand’. The dealer cannot ‘Split’ or ‘Double’.
If your hand is higher than the dealer’s, you are a winner! If the dealer ‘Busts’, all other players that haven't also ‘Busted’ win, irrespective of the hand's value. If the dealer’s hand and a player’s hand are equal, this is called a ‘Push’ and the player receives his bet in return.
