FanDuel Sportsbook has announced a new real-time check-in tool for players making larger or more frequent deposits than usual. The AI tool will track customers' deposit and betting patterns to help ensure the check-in is sent to those who show early signs of problem gambling. The feature will send a real-time message to those bettors, encouraging them to review their deposit and overall spending on the platform.

The new tool is now live for all FanDuel bettors across the US. 

Stopping Problem Gambling Before it Starts

The goal of real-time check-ins is to stop problem gambling before it starts. 

One of the most common ways bettors get into trouble is to chase losses. A bad betting day can hurt and tempt many people to try to win it all back, which leads to making extra or larger deposits and wagers.

My Spend Continues to Have Success

The new real-time check-in feature is FanDuel's second responsible gaming initiative over the last year. The sports betting industry leader launched its new “My Spend” feature during the NFL season, one of the busiest times of the year for bettors.

“My Spend” allows all FanDuel Sportsbook customers to track their spending easily. They can see their past deposits, betting patterns, and how much they have won or lost. Customers can use this tool to easily create a betting budget. 

Sportsbooks Continue to Search for Solutions

FanDuel’s new feature is the latest of many efforts by sportsbooks to curb problem gambling. The industry has come under fire over the last few years as the number of problem gamblers continues to grow. 

The increased pressure from lawmakers and US citizens pushes sportsbooks to develop solutions. Several state and federal bills have been proposed that would add harsh new regulations for the industry, cutting into the amount of money operators make.
