Key Takeaways
- Bitsler.io and Starlight Casino announce California shutdowns ahead of AB 831 going live
- Starlight is slated to close on Nov. 16
- Bitsler.io halts purchases on November 10 and entirely shuts down on December 1
With AB 831 looming, two more sweepstakes casinos have announced their shutdown in California: Bitsler.io and Starlight Casino. Both platforms informed their players earlier this week.
Starlight Casino Message to Players
Starlight Casino sent out a message to its players on Nov. 1, 2026, which said the following:
“We would like to inform you that StarlightCasino will be permanently shutting down and discontinuing its services. This notice is issued in accordance with our updated Terms & Conditions and Sweep Rules.
“SHUTDOWN PROCESS
“New users are not able to register for an Account during the Shutdown Period.
“You may continue to use your existing Gold Coins (GCO, TICO OR GC) for gameplay for fifteen calendar days from the date of this notice (“Shutdown Period”).
“You will not be able to purchase additional Gold Coins (GCO, TICO OR GC) during the Shutdown Period. You will not be able to receive any additional Sweep Coins (SC, FICO, or FC) by any means during the Shutdown Period.”
In the message, it’s dated Nov. 1 and mentions a 15-day shutdown period. Thus, it appears that Nov. 16 will be the final day, with all registrations halted as of Nov. 1.
Bitsler.io’s Message
Next up, here’s what Bitsler.io had to say:
“Bitsler.io will close on December 1st, 2025.
“What this means for you:
“You can still log in, play, and make purchases until November 10th, 2025. After that, no new purchases or mail-in entries will be accepted. Gameplay continues until November 24th, and you can redeem any remaining balances until December 1st, 2025.
“Need help?
“Our live chat will be on until December 1st.
“Please email support@bitsler.io with any questions through December 31st, 2025.”
In all, no currency purchases or mail-ins are available after Nov. 10, all gaming ends Nov. 25, and the last day for Sweeps Coin redemptions is Dec. 1.
The Latest Sweeps Casinos to Depart
These exits come after many other sweepstakes casinos have announced their departure, including Dara Casino, SweepsUSA, Grand Vault Casino, and TheBoss.Casino, CosmoSlots, LuckySlots, High 5 Casino, Carnival Citi, and Ruby Sweeps.
There are other platforms that have other plans, though.
WOW Vegas plans to stay live until the very last possible moment, and Modo Casino will phase out Sweeps Coins play, but stay live in California, offering Gold Coins only.
