Key Takeaways

  • BetMGM will be upgrading its sportsbook to improve performance
  • It will also allow bettors to manage wagers from the homepage
  • The operator highlighted a new focus on soccer markets after the World Cup

Some big changes are coming for BetMGM’s online sportsbook.

The operator has announced upgrades to the platform ahead of the busy football season. BetMGM has promised faster performance, more stats, and a groundbreaking new “My Bets” feature. It hopes the new changes will help the online sportsbook remain competitive as the US sports betting landscape continues to shift.

There is no official timeline for the new feature's launch, but it is expected to go live for the NFL season starting next month.

Bet Management From the Home Screen

One of the updates being made by BetMGM is a new “My Bets” feature to help bettors easily manage their open wagers. Unlike rival sportsbooks, the feature will let bettors manage wagers directly from the home page. That means bettors will see them as soon as they log in, instead of having to navigate to a different part of the platform.

This tool could be a game-changer for live betting, which requires players to quickly place or cash out wagers as an event is taking place. Saving even a couple of seconds can help players secure better pricing.

Bettors can also quickly build parlays with this tool, creating a seamless process for this popular bet type.

BetMGM Focuses on Soccer

During an earnings call with investors last month, BetMGM leadership discussed the results from the 2026 World Cup.

CEO Adam Greenblatt celebrated the platform's success and believes it signals that soccer betting will be one of the hottest betting markets moving forward.

I think in terms -- as we look to the future, soccer is a real sports category and growing. And I think that as a feeder to our sector, that’s tremendously exciting. So that’s the first. We saw crazy -- massive handle growth. We saw three times the handle in 2026 that we saw in 2022, 3x. The handle that we took on the bet that we took on the USA-Belgium game were more than any baseball playoff, basketball playoff game, any World Series game. So the -- point is it’s legit, and it’s on the map. And so as we look to the future, I think soccer is an increasing – is a growing category.

No Prediction Pivot…Yet

While BetMGM’s leadership has not been willing to rule out pursuing a prediction platform, its investment in the sportsbooks reaffirms its commitment to the regulated sports betting industry.

One reason for the resistance is the operator’s home state, Nevada, which has been aggressively fighting the prediction industry in court. This has prevented BetMGM from joining rivals like DraftKings, Fanatics, and FanDuel, which have all launched their own platforms over the last few months.

Another reason likely involves the legal fight over sports prediction markets, which could soon result in state regulation of the industry. That would limit returns on any investment in the prediction industry, especially considering the small market share BetMGM would likely secure.
