Key Takeaways

  • Oregon’s gaming laws do not allow customers to bet online away from casino ground if they don’t use DraftKings
  • The app was tested to ensure that users couldn’t place bets away from the casino or its resort
  • Three Rivers also has slot machines, live-dealer games, and the largest LED viewing screen in Oregon in its retail sportsbook

Casino customers in Oregon will enjoy expanded sports betting options thanks to a new product launch.

Three Rivers Casino Resort late last week announced the launch of a new mobile sports betting app developed by ISI Sports. The new application allows customers to bet on the Three Rivers Sportsbook on their phone anywhere on the casino and hotel’s campus without having to visit a betting kiosk.

Bettors still cannot place bets using the new mobile app anywhere outside of the property, pursuant to Oregon’s gaming laws.

Three Rivers launches campus-bound online sportsbook

Three Rivers is one of 12 casinos in Oregon. While it already housed a retail sportsbook, which contains a 200-square-foot LED wall, the new mobile app allows customers to take their betting action on-the-go around the casino and resort.

“At Three Rivers, we have thoughtfully created a multi-faceted gaming experience for all types of players, including our sports bettors,” said Rick Ray, Three Rivers Director of Gaming Operations. “Now, in this partnership with ISI Sports, we are excited to offer our guests the convenience of mobile sports betting. Whether they’re relaxing in one of our several restaurants, or playing their favorite game, they can place sports bets instantly without having to leave their seat.”

The ISI-made mobile betting app received certification from Gaming Laboratories International. Part of the testing process included geo-tracking and geofencing, ensuring that customers could not place bets from unapproved areas.

Mobile users will enjoy a full betting menu, including traditional major and prop markets, live betting, parlays, and futures.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this major milestone at Three Rivers Casino,” said Bill Stearns, President of ISI Sports. “Their sportsbook patrons now have access to a broad range of betting options, including many in-play wagers. The ISI platform is flexible, allowing our customers to expand their offerings as their needs evolve.”

Three Rivers and Oregon’s gaming scene

Three Rivers is located in Florence, Oregon, which is on the Pacific Coast and just about halfway between the state’s northern and southern borders.

The casino opened in 2004, and three years later, added on its now-93-room hotel. It tacked on the nextdoor Ocean Dunes Golf Course in 2012, giving customers even more entertainment options to enjoy during their stays.

Inside the casino, visitors will find 15,000 square feet of gaming space with more than 250 gaming stations, including slot machines. It also hosts live-dealer table games, including Roulette, poker, and Blackjack. It also hosts daily poker tournaments, along with other recurring tournaments every Saturday.

Sportsbook visitors will be able to take in the largest sports betting screen in Oregon, along with 32 seats and six betting kiosks to become fully immersed in the action. The gaming floor, Blue Bills, Beachside Bistro, and Pacific Cold Bar and Cocktails are also immediately next to the sportsbook.

Mobile sports betting is limited to the casino-resort’s property because of an arrangement with DraftKings, which is the only state-approved sportsbook platform licensed to operate outside of casino property.

The company last week launched a product for Oregon customers called DK Replay, which allowed users to mimic live betting by placing wagers on historical MLB plate appearances. The pitch-by-pitch method lets customers pick the outcomes of sequential pitches between anonymous pitchers and batters, who will be given performance ratings relative to how they played in the game in question.
