Key Takeaways

  • In April, florescent announced a break from the remaining 2025 VCT season
  • The allegations toward florescent were made by a person going by the name “Brick”
  • Riot Games released a statement, but didn’t name the VALORANT pro by name

After recently announcing a break for the rest of the VCT season, VALORANT pro Ava “florescent” Eugene has had sexual assault allegations made toward her, and the developer of VALORANT, Riot Games, has publicly acknowledged them.

Riot Games’ Public Acknowledgement

“On May 17, we were made aware of the sexual-assault allegations made against a competitor. Such allegations are among the most serious an individual can face and we urge anyone with relevant information to contact law enforcement,” Riot stated.

Riot Games isn’t conducting an investigation, but the company will cooperate with legal authorities and assess florescent’s status for future VCT events.

“Our Competitive Operations Team will cooperate fully with any legal investigation and assess whether these allegations affect the individuals future eligibility,” the statement added.

The Allegations At Hand

On Saturday, May 17, an X user came forward on behalf of someone referred to as “Brick.”

Said person, “Brick,” accused florescent of sexual assault.

That same day, florescent came out and denied the allegations and mentioned she would seek legal assistance for the situation.

“I'm aware of the allegations that were made against me and take them very seriously. However, I strongly deny any and all accusations of SA. I’m currently treating this matter with my full attention. I am also exploring immediate legal assistance to help determine the best way for me to proceed, both in determining what I can share publicly, and how to best go about clearing my name. I will provide an update when capable.

“I wish I could provide evidence for the public to see immediately, but I have been asked to refrain from sharing at this time for my own safety.

“I ask that you please respect the other party’s privacy at this time,” florescent said on X.

Then, on May 18, “Brick” had a second statement.

Riot Games Backlash

In the statement released by Riot Games, they didn’t mention the player, florescent, specifically. Now, fans in the VALORANT community are voicing their opinions.

So Sinatra gets accused of similar stuff back then and as soon as the investigation starts he's barred from competing but for some reason now it's  "we'll see if they'll still be eligible to play again" one X user wrote.

Another X user said “yall not keeping the same energy smh,” while quoting a statement made by VALORANT on March 10, 2021 regarding Jay Won, also known as Sinatraa. In that statement they named the player by name.

“Guys the damage is already done. Not giving the name or naming them wont change it. We all know who it is about and what the allegations are. The only thing you can do from now is be public about what you can and show us that you dont treat franchised player differently from the rest,” another X user wrote.
