Eligible Regions
The FragPunk Global Invitational will include teams from the following regions: Germany, France, North America, Brazil, Russia, Mainland China, and Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan.
Each region will have a captain leading the recruitment efforts.
The captains revealed so far include Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo (North America), TrilluXe (Germany), FUGU (France), TCK10 (Brazil), and Dmitrii ‘Recrent’ Osintsev (Russia).
The Format
On April 28, captains will lead open qualifiers to determine the best teams.
Following that, the regional finals will take place from May 3 to May 11.
This will enable captains to finalize their teams before the Grand Finals in Hangzhou, China, from June 5 to 7.
The top teams from the regional final will compete for $10k. The Grand Final will offer up $150k.
Additionally, the winner will receive the World Clash Championship Trophy, which was crafted specifically for this event.
FragPunk Esport Future
With this being the first esports event for FragPunk, first, the results of this tournament will be telling.
That said, the game itself has the makings of being an esports-compatible title, being that it's a shooter.
FragPunk has also been part of Twitch Rivals, so there's some potential already there.
With a publisher like Netease, they're accustomed to esports, as seen with titles like Marvel Rivals.
On April 29, FragPunk will also be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
