Following a disappointing League of Legends World Championship 2025 run, Fnatic has parted ways with Mihael ‘Mikyx‘ Mehle.

Mikyx had been with the team since November 2024.

Fnatic Announcement

After failing to win a match during the tournament's Swiss stage, Fnatic announced on social media that Mikyx was departing the team.

"Today we announce that we're mutually parting ways with @mikyk as he sets out to explore new opportunities beyond the Black and Orange.

"A huge thank you to Miky for everything he’s brought to Fnatic this year. While we didn’t achieve everything we hoped for together, he’s been an legendary support who always gave it his all," the message read with an orange heart emoji at the end.

Mikyx came to Fnatic after a bunch of success at G2 Esports, winning each LEC split in 2024 and finishing inside the top four at the Esports World Cup 2024.

"Going into this off-season we let the whole team know that we are open to exploring all possible options next season.

"It’s been a pleasure to work with Miky this year, and have him back in Fnatic. After discussing his future together, we’ve decided to let him freely explore his options for 2026 and build a team which better fits his vision and goals.

"We wish him all the best, and look forward to facing him on rift once more!" said Patrik Sättermon, Chief Gaming Officer at Fnatic.

According to the Riot Games Global Contract Database, Mikyx's contract expires in November 2026. His next move is unknown.

Fnatic 2025 Recap

While Fnatic didn't make it to the Knockout Stage at Worlds 2025, Fnatic still showed some signs of promise.

The team finished third at LEC 2025 Winter and fourth at LEC 2025 Spring.

It secured a place at Worlds after beating Karmine Corp at LEC 2025 Summer.

That said, the team hasn't won a tournament since 2019.

Fan Reactions

Fans of the team took to X to speak their mind on the move.

"As a proud Fnatic fan of 10+ years, I'm glad we're finally taking serious steps in putting together a team that can hopefully compete at Worlds. If you can also drop Upset, I believe plugging in Los Ratones bot lane & an upgrade with Inspired for jungle would do it," one fan said.

"Bruh, losing Mikyx hurts hard. Hope this isn’t just the start of keeping the wrong pieces around… GL to him though, absolute legend," another person wrote.

"I love Miky, but it’s better this way. Honestly, can we have players who actually really want to be with us and works hard to ? Also, everyone is mocking us right now. At Worlds and the management. Win LEC is not the ultimate goal at any cost. Just a team a fan can be proud of," another fan added.

We'll see if Fnatic makes any other roster moves.
