Key Takeaways

  • Apex Legends joins the first-ever Esports Nations Cup
  • The Apex Legends section features 40 teams
  • The event will last from November 26 to 29

As part of the first-ever Esports Nations Cup, the Esports World Cup Foundation has announced that Apex Legends will be part of the lineup

The game will appear among 16 options at the event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in November.

The Apex Format

From November 26 to 29, 40 teams will compete to crown the champion.

It'll start with the Group Stage when 40 teams are split into four groups of 10. This will result in a six-match series with the top 20 advancing to the Finals.

Then, similar to the Apex Legends Global Series, the Finals will have a Match Point system. Teams will then face off to reach a certain threshold, and when they've reached Match Point, they must win a game to win the championship.

The 40 teams competing will be determined by ALGS Championship Points, online qualifiers, and other wildcard spots. There will be online qualifiers from August 1 to 2, with the highest placing roster from each region earning a spot to represent their nation.

In all, the Americas receive six slots, EMEA gets nine, and the Asia Pacific South will get three.

For teams hoping to represent South Korea and Japan, they'll do so based on Championship Points, along with an online qualifier.

Speaking of Apex Legends teams, TSM recently dropped its team but plans to acquire a new one, while Complexity left competitive play completely

This comes after the Esports World Cup Foundation committed $45 million to a new Esports Nations Cup

So far, games like PUBG, Trackmania, Counter-Strike 2, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang have been announced.

EA's Involvement With Esports Nations Cup

Apex Legends, which was published by EA, has earned a spot in the event thanks in part to EA's involvement with the Esports Nations Cup. It became a publishing partner for the event alongside KRAFTON, Ubisoft, and MOONTON Games.

EA has been working with the Esports World Cup Foundation for quite some time. The ALGS has beenintegratedd into the Esports World Cup since 2025.
