Poker Player That Cosplays as Captain Jack Sparrow Arrested

Key Takeaways

  • Scotter Clark, a poker player known for his Jack Sparrow persona, was arrested in Tulsa for two violent assaults.
  • Clark is accused of stabbing a man and running over a woman after a confrontation in a parking lot.
  • Once a WSOP Circuit winner, Clark has a criminal past and was previously banned from Caesars properties.

In Iowa, there’s a well-known player in poker that’s known for dressing up as Captain Jack Sparrow. This past Monday, that man was arrested in Oklahoma after attacking two people, that have landed in the hospital.

The man, Scotter Clark, is accused of running over a woman in his truck and, before that, is accused of stabbing a man in the head and chest.

This allegedly happened after Clark approached the woman in a parking lot in Tulsa for sex, and the situation devolved after the man who was with the woman approached Clark.

A witness got Clark’s license plate, and he was arrested shortly thereafter.

Both victims are expected to survive and recover.

Clark is claiming someone tried to break into his truck.

Now, he’s charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and is in the Tulsa Municipal Jail.

This comes after another poker player, Craig Michael Bergeron, was arrested in Michigan earlier this year in a murder case

Clark Was Banned From Caesars Locations

Since 2015, Clark has made about $500k from tournaments and even secured a first-place finish in the “Big O” tournament at the Choctaw Casino Resort. This was part of the WSOP Circuit.

However, Clark isn’t playing in the WSOP this year, as he was labeled as trespassing on Caesars properties in 2022. He claimed that this was because security didn’t like him bringing prop pirate guns as part of his outfit.

Was In Prison Before and Ran Poker Sike

In 2001, Clark was sentenced to 15 years in prison for drug trafficking and money laundering. Before getting into poker in the mid-2010s, he operated Pleasures Entertainment, a table dancing business, along with Elegant Limousines, a limo rental company. These were both in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Court documents also showed links to the Lucchese Crime Family for cocaine and marijuana, and their men for debt collections.

After he got out of prison, Clark was an operator for BigDogPoker.net, a site in which multiple players accused the site of freezing and banning accounts and not releasing winnings. It’s said that the vast majority of players were paid, though, and the company was eventually shuttered in 2021.
