El Cortez has announced a series of executive promotions and a new hire ahead of its 85th anniversary. The reshuffle follows a major $20 million expansion to modernize the property. Meanwhile, Sean McBurney, Chief Commercial Officer and Regional President of Caesars Entertainment, has been selected for the Aspen Institute's prestigious Henry Crown Fellowship.

Key Executive Promotions at El Cortez

El Cortez has promoted Adam Wiesberg to Vice President and General Manager. Patrick Lazarus has been named Vice President and Director of Casino Operations. Nords Malilay is now Vice President of Player Development and Casino Marketing. Additionally, Bart Mahoney joins as Vice President of Hospitality.

Patrick Lazarus joined the property in 2012. He will manage day-to-day casino operations, having progressed through roles such as Table Games Shift Manager and Casino Manager. Nords Malilay has been part of the leadership team since 2005. He will focus on enhancing player engagement through innovative strategies and personalized service.

Hospitality Veteran Bart Mahoney Joins Leadership Team

Bart Mahoney's appointment as Vice President of Hospitality marks a significant addition to the El Cortez team. He brings over 20 years of experience from companies like Resorts World and Wynn Resorts. Mahoney will oversee food and beverage operations, including the renowned Siegel's 1941 restaurant. His expertise is expected to play a crucial role in the property's ongoing renovations and enhancements planned for 2026.
