Expansion Details Unveiled
Red Rock’s Durango Phase Two expansion will add 275,000 sq ft of new space, including nearly 400 additional slot machines, for increased gaming capacity. The project will introduce a luxury 36-lane bowling alley, a premium movie theater, and diverse dining and entertainment venues aimed at broadening its appeal to locals and tourists.
CFO Cootey emphasized the strategic vision, stating, “We believe the property will be better positioned to capture additional market share and drive sustained growth in the local market.” The expansion aligns with demographic projections that indicate over 6,000 new households will be located near the resort. Broader regional growth is also expected, including 34,000 planned residences in Downtown Summerlin and Summerlin West, positioning Durango as a central hub for gaming and leisure in Southwest Las Vegas.
Current Upgrades Ahead of Schedule
Red Rock Resorts’ $120 million initial expansion phase at Durango Casino & Resort remains on track for completion by December 2025, adding 25,000 sq ft of gaming space with a dedicated high-limit slot zone and bar. The upgrade introduces 230 slot machines, including 120 premium units targeting high-stakes players.
A newly constructed 2,000-space parking garage aims to streamline visitor access while accommodating projected growth. Cootey described the structure as “providing flexibility for future developments,” reinforcing Durango’s adaptability in a competitive market.
Record Profits Fuel Expansion
Red Rock Resorts posted a 39% year-on-year net income surge to $76.9 million in Q3 2025, marking its ninth straight quarter of record revenue and fifth consecutive period of historic adjusted EBIDTA. The results reinforce its resilience amid economic pressures facing Las Vegas. As the second expansion phase advances, the company signals more growth opportunities, including potential hotel upgrades and additional Las Vegas-area projects.
