Downtown Las Vegas Casinos Attract Canadians with At Par Dollar Program

In a strategic move to boost tourism, three downtown Las Vegas casinos launched the innovative "At Par" program, treating the Canadian dollar as equivalent to the  US dollar. It successfully attracted over 15,000 Canadian visitors in its first month alone. This initiative has generated more than 2,700 hotel room bookings.

The promotion runs through August 31. It aims to alleviate financial pressures on Canadian travelers by offering equal value for their currency across select gaming, hotel, beverage, and entertainment options.

At Par Program Drives Canadian Tourism to Downtown Vegas

The "At Par" program has proven to be a remarkable success for Circa Resort & Casino, the D Las Vegas, and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino.

By allowing Canadian guests to spend CA$1 for US$1, the casinos have eased the impact of the weaker Canadian dollar, which currently trades at about 70 US cents.

Derek Stevens, owner and CEO of the participating casinos, expressed his enthusiasm for the program's early success. "At Par has created real momentum with our Canadian guests right out of the gate," he said. He emphasized his personal connection to Canada and the importance of this initiative in attracting Canadian tourists amid declining visitation.

Canadian Entertainment Highlights Under the Promotion

To further entice Canadian travelers, the "At Par" program includes exciting entertainment options. Canadian DJ and producer Excision will headline two performances at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on April 24-25. Tickets will be available at par pricing.

Additionally, the Fremont Street Experience will feature the rock band Finger Eleven as part of its Downtown Rocks Summer Concert Series on June 27. This concert falls just ahead of Canada Day. Known for hits like "Paralyzer," Finger Eleven promises to deliver a high-energy performance.

Gaming, Hotel, and Beverage Perks for Canadian Guests

The "At Par" program extends beyond entertainment. It offers various benefits across gaming, hotel, and beverage services. Canadian guests can redeem up to CA$500 in slot promotional play, treated at full USD value. They can do this by visiting Club One at any participating casino. Furthermore, hotel guests will enjoy the At Par rate at check-in. Beverage offers also participate in the program.
