Key Takeaways

  • The casino is a “first-of-its-kind” experience with a focus on music and visual elements
  • New songs by Snoop Dogg will be released on the platform
  • The platform did not launch its sweepstakes gambling games in all of the states it did its free-to-play version

Music and entertainment mogul Snoop Dogg announced on Thursday the launch of a new free-to-play sweepstakes casino.

The platform, created in collaboration with Boston-based gambling technology company TRIVELTA, was unveiled as Dogg House Casino. Customers will enjoy original music, beats, and lyrics from Snoop Dogg Radio, which will also release new songs over time.

The casino is described as a first-of-its-kind gaming experience for casino customers with a passion for hip-hop and music culture.

A familiar face comes to gambling

The Dogg House Casino utilizes the dual-currency model that has been adopted by sweepstakes casinos. Essentially, customers can, but do not need to purchase any tokens to play the casino’s games.

The online platform was tailor-made to fit the vision of Snoop, who has done everything from dominate West Coast hip-hop to be an official commentator at the Paris Olympics.

For the first time, players can step into a casino built exactly the way I wanted it,” said Snoop Dogg. “The music, the vibe, the games. I wanted something innovative, immersive, and fun. Trivelta worked with Death Row Games to help me bring that to life.”

While the musical ambience and innovation are new to the industry, customers will also enjoy a visual experience inspired by hip-hop and West Coast elements. That spilled over to the games themselves, which include reworked versions of classic attractions.

The platform is described as showcasing the “flexibility and scalability of TRIVELTA’s technology,” with Snoop’s musical touch, engaging visuals, and entertaining games, including online casino games, such as slot machines.

“It's rare to work with an artist who is this deeply involved in the product,” said Carson Hubbard, CEO of TRIVELTA. “Snoop shaped the look, sound, and feel of Dogg House Casino to create something that sits at the intersection of iGaming, music, and culture.”

Features and plans for launch

The announcement of the new platform included a list and descriptions of several key features, including:

  • Snoop Dogg Radio: Original music and lyrics with plans for new releases, plus the option for customers to set their musical preferences
  • Snoop Blackjack: Play the classic game of 21 with Snoop starring as the dealer and the exclusive song “Snoop Dogg Blackjack”
  • Snoop Crazy Dogg Cross: Maneuver Snoop in a ‘64 Impala through downtown LA traffic
  • Snoop Dogg Poker: Invite friends or join public poker tables for a chance to face the real-life Snoop Dogg
  • Extensive Game Library: More than 500 games across categories including slot machines, crash games, 24/7 live-dealer games, and more
  • Launch promotion: New customers receive a 50 percent boost on their first purchase up to $100. All new users will receive 1 Dogg Cash Daily and 1,000 Dogg Coins Daily

Dogg House Casino will launch the free-to-play of its platform in all 50 U.S. states. However, it will not offer the casino games in California, Connecticut, Idaho, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee.

Many of those states either outlawed or have taken legal action against sweepstakes casinos.

Sweepstakes casinos frequently operate in a gray area of state laws, which require gambling platforms to receive state-level licensing. However, by offering but not requiring customers to purchase coins, sweepstakes platforms have argued that they do not need to achieve the same licensing.

“These operators present themselves like legal, regulated platforms, but they operate outside the law and regulation,” said American Gaming Association Vice President of Government Relations Tres York. “There are few, if any, responsible gaming tools, no regulatory oversight, and no consumer protections. It’s a dangerous subterfuge that puts players at real risk.”
