More on the Signing
On X, the T1 League of Legends X account announced the extension:
"‘Oner’ has extended his contract with T1 until 2028! As he continues to shape T1’s history, we look forward to building an even brighter legacy together and thank our fans for their continued support," the post read.
Oner joined the team in 2020 and has helped lead them to three global championships, raising their international fame and profile. He's often credited for his elite gameplay, decision, and leadership.
Fans were supportive of the move.
"Huge congrats to Oner! T1 is building a dynasty – who's your prediction for their biggest rival in 2026? Drop your thoughts below!" one fan wrote on X.
"Today is Oner’s birthday, but T1 fans are the ones who received the most wonderful gift. Happy birthday to our amazing jungler Thank you for choosing to stay with T1 and with T1 fans until 2028. Wishing you and T1 many more trophies in the future. Lots of love," another fan wrote.
"ONER, THANK YOU FOR STAYING. THANK YOU FOR BEING OUR JUNGLER, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH, LET'S CREATE MORE HAPPY MEMORIES TOGETHER," someone else said, also excited about the extension.
This extension comes ahead of 2026 and during a time where the team lost Lee ‘Gumayusi’ Min-hyeong to Hanwha Life Esports. Oner isn't the oldest member of the team though as Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok is the oldst player on the team.
Oner Has Been a Constant Presence Throughout the Years
T1 has had plenty of changes in recent years, but Oner has been a constant. When he joined in 2020, he did so along with the roser ZOFGK, which included Zeus, Oner, Faker, Gumayusi, and Keria. Zeus left the team in 2024 for Hanwha Life Esports, Gumyusi left a year after him, and Doran and Peyz joined in 2025.
With Oner and Faker on the squad, T1 will look to bring home more titles in 2026.
