Meet Kshitij Ghate

Heather Gartland

Kshitij’s love for casinos started the way most great passions do, with a movie! Watching 6 MIT students take Vegas for millions in the 2008 film, 21, as a teenager, ignited a fascination with casinos that never faded.

Over the past decade, Kshitij has turned that spark into a full-fledged writing career, covering everything from slots and table games to bonuses and in-depth casino reviews.

He takes a beginner-friendly approach to his writing. Kshitij knows very well how it feels to be new to it all and wants every newcomer to the world of casino to feel heard. Honesty in his writing is something Kshitij swears by. No fluff, straight to the point.

When he’s not writing, you will find Kshitij reading, watching a festival-favourite film, or finding the next IEM for his collection.

To keep the content relevant, he stays up to date on the latest industry developments. His goal, since the beginning of his writing career, has been to educate readers to become more informed players.

The style of writing has evolved over the years, but it has always remained true to his commitment to providing reliable information to new players.

"My favourite gambling moment? Placing a bet on India in the 2024 T20 World Cup Final with South Africa needing just 30 off 30 and cruising. Everyone had given up, but eight years of writing about the game teaches you to read situations differently. I looked at the bowling matchups, backed my instinct, and told my friends — India can still win this. They did. We did. That's when I knew all those years of analysis weren't just for the articles."

Q&A with Kshitij Ghate

  • Which casino game will you never play?

Keno — terrible odds, zero strategy, nothing you can do to influence the outcome. Not for me.

  • What's the best/worst tip you've ever gotten?

The best tip I ever got? Back Mumbai Indians against CSK in 2021 — 119 off 48 with Pollard just arriving at the crease. Sounds crazy, but I listened, and Pollard did what Pollard does. Glad I trusted that one.

  • What's your favourite slot game?

Gonzo's Quest — a classic for a reason. Great mechanics, a compelling theme, and just enough strategy to keep it interesting.

  • Where do you see the gambling industry going?

There is no doubt in my mind that the industry will continue to grow in the coming years. The bigger shift I’m watching is the regulation. Player protection and safety tools will decide which online casinos will lead the industry.

  • How do you stay up to date on industry news?

A mix of newsletters and forums. I also like to follow the reaction from the online gambling community to the latest developments and updates in the industry.
