Key Takeaways

  • Vegas Coins is shutting down completely, citing "market conditions" in the United States
  • The shutdown will occur on Nov. 28, 2025
  • All purchases and registrations are disabled

The sweepstakes casino industry has been extremely volatile in 2025, and now, one of the newer sweepstakes casinos, Vegas Coins, has announced it's leaving the United States and closing down.

More About the Exit

Vegas Coins was launched in September 2024, offering a variety of game types, including slots, scratchcards, table games, crash games, and more.

Now, it'll be closing down completely on Nov. 28, 2025.

Vegas Coins sent out an email to its players, citing "market conditions" in the United States.

“We wanted to let you know that we’ve made the difficult decision to cease Vegas Coins operations as of November 28, 2025. Unfortunately the market conditions in the USA relating to Sweepstakes have made it very hard to operate and we were left with no other choice but to wind down operations.”

In 2025 alone, states like Montana, Connecticut, New Jersey, and California passed and signed laws banning sweepstakes casinos. Additionally, New York passed a law, but it has yet to be signed.

Not only that, but other states like Louisiana, Arizona, Maryland, Tennessee, and more are coming down hard on sweepstakes casinos, sending cease-and-desist notices.

Registration and Purchases Disabled

With the shutdown scheduled for Nov. 28, 2025, purchases and new registrations have been disabled on the site. That said, you can still play using Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins, and redemptions can be made through Nov. 28, 2025.

Following that date, all games will be offline, and redemptions of more than 100 Sweeps Coins can be done by emailing support@vegascoins.com.

Other Recent Sweepstakes Casino Exits

There have been numerous other sweepstakes casino exits, including a total of nine in California since AB 831, the state's anti-sweepstakes casino legislation, was enacted.

Additionally, in Tennessee, three sweepstakes sportsbooks —Thrillzz, ReBet, and KicKr — shut down, and the Tennessee Sports Wagering Council announced the latter two in a press release.

We'll see what happens in the sweepstakes casino industry as 2025 comes to a close.

In 2026, other states, such as Ohio, may also crack down on sweepstakes casinos.
