  • The victim, George Beatty, is suing the Four Queens Hotel & Casino for $15k
  • The attacker was sentenced to 14-48 months in prison.

In June 2023, a man was stabbed at the Four Queens Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Now, he’s suing the venue for negligence.

The man attacked was George Beatty, a cook from California. Felipe Nicholson attacked him with a knife, and now, Beatty has permanent damage to his arm.

The Result of the Case and More on the Suit

Nicholson pleaded guilty to battery with substantial bodily harm and was sentenced to 14-48 months. He’s still in prison two years later.

In Beatty’s lawsuit, he claims security was nowhere to be found during his attack.

More About What Happened

While gambling at the casino, Beatty’s chair was repeatedly bumped into, and Nicholson got into an argument with another person.

After being bumped into, Beatty moved to another machine, but Nicholson continued to bump into his chair.

Beatty then tried to figure out what was going on with Nicholson, and from there, Nicholson got angry.

Felipe proceeded to chase George around the casino floor of the Four Queens,” the suit reads. “After a period of time, Felipe pulled out a knife and got close enough to attack George.”

Beatty is seeking $15,000 in damages.

Other Instances of Venue Being Sued

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a venue sued for an attack that happened on its premises.

In November 2024, a poker player, Karruah Parkinson, who was shot outside of Bestbet poker club in Florida, sued the venue for a similar reason, citing the venue’s failure to protect him.

“As he is trying to basically escape this shooting, he goes up to a security car or security stand or security post to try to flag down a security officer to no avail,” said Okoye Morgan, Parkin’s lawyer. “There was no security officer there.”

As a result of the shooting, Parkinson was found with multiple gunshots and was recovering mentally and physically at the time of the attack.

“Those facilities should have adequate security to protect its patrons,” Morgan said. “We believe that the security was inadequate, and they owed our client a duty to protect him, and they failed.

“I will tell you what – [Parkinson] is not interested in visiting a casino again,” Morgan added. “It has affected him, his mental health first of all. It is just a nightmare situation for anybody to survive and have to live through. It has affected his overall health.”

There haven’t been any updates since Parkinson filed the suit.
