  • California’s sweepstakes ban takes place on Jan. 1
  • Tennessee has issued several cease-and-desist notices recently, including to sweepstakes platforms
  • Gold Coins play is still available in both Tennessee and California

Legendz, a platform that offers a sweepstakes casino and sportsbook, has announced some changes to its Sweeps Coins play in California and Tennessee.

According to Sweepsy, Legendz will end Sweeps Coins play in California on Dec. 25. That said, Gold Coins play will remain. We’ve also seen platforms like Modo.us and McLuck follow this same model: keeping Gold Coins play but removing sweeps.

California’s sweepstakes casino ban goes into effect Jan. 1, 2026.

As for Tennessee, Legendz has closed down all Sweeps Coins play. Tennessee has been a hotbed of cease-and-desist notices recently.
