Shut Down Timeline
As of Oct. 1, coin package purchases no longer include free Sweeps Coins. This originally began on Sept. 25.
Next up, on Oct. 8, players can continue to play games and redeem Sweeps Coins.
Then, on Oct. 9, iCasino will officially close its doors.
This all comes after iCasino launched in October 2024. It's operated by Sunflower Limited, which is also the company overseeing Crown Coins.
Ultimately, the platform failed to gain significant traction, and a plethora of sweepstakes casinos had already been launched in 2025, increasing its competition.
Now What?
If you were a player at iCasino, the next place to look would be Crown Coins, as they're under the same umbrella. There have been reports, including from Sweepskings, that, in a customer support live chat message, the team at iCasino has hinted at "future projects."
Why Did They Shut Down?
This shutdown appears to be business-related and not because of recently passed laws, such as California's AB 831. None of their messaging has mentioned anything related to new laws or the sweepstakes casino landscape. It would certainly make sense, though, as plenty of sweepstakes casinos are leaving states like California in droves.
Then, there are platforms like Vivaro.us, which are leaving the United States altogether due to states coming down hard on sweepstakes casinos.
Again, though, this shutdown appears to lack traction, but that's purely speculative.
We'll be on the lookout if anything related to these "future projects" emerges.
