  • FanDuel had a profound impact once it switched its market-access partner last November

West Virginia’s online casino industry is continuing to pay dividends.

According to the state’s gaming report, approved operators generated an all-time monthly high in January. That number fell in February, although it still represented substantial year-over-year growth.

The seven states with legal iGaming also combined to produce more than $1 billion in revenue in December and January, both times producing new national records.

Following the numbers

According to the West Virginia regulator, the state’s online casinos combined to produce $37.1 million in revenue in February. That was down about 11 percent from the $41.7 million that was reported in January, although there were three fewer total days and one fewer weekend day in February.

The number also represented a 41.6 percent year-over-year increase on the $26.2 million reported following Feb. 2025. The January figure was also up nearly 40 percent YoY.

Here’s how each week in February looked for the West Virginia online casino market:

  • Week Ending Feb. 7: $9,856,344
  • Week Ending Feb. 14: $8,911,854
  • Week Ending Feb. 21: $9,171,587
  • Week Ending Feb. 28: $9,151,421

It’s still very early, but West Virginia’s gaming market experienced 15.3 percent YoY growth in overall commercial gaming revenue in 2025, which ranked 15th of all eligible states. The strong start to the year suggests that the state could be in for another year of significant improvement.

FanDuel powers West Virginia casino revenue surge

West Virginia became the fifth state to pass online casino legislation in Feb. 2019. Its first iGaming operators went live in July 2020.

While online casino-style gaming, including slot machines, isn’t new to the state, it recently underwent a substantial change.

FanDuel Casino was previously tied to Greenbrier Casino Club, which served as the Flutter-owned company’s market access partner. The switch gave those responsibilities to Delaware North, which worked in tandem with Mardi Gras Casino & Resort.

“Delaware North has been a respected name in gaming and hospitality for decades, and they are an ideal partner as we continue to operate in West Virginia,” FanDuel Business Development Senior Vice President Jonathan Edson said after the change was announced.

At the time the switch was made, Mardi Gras Casino reported less than $1 million in weekly revenue.

As of the week that ended on Feb. 28, Mardi Gras reported $2.7 million in revenue, setting a new weekly record for the property. The company is also up to $50.4 million in revenue with four months remaining in FY2026, markedly outpacing its $7.6 million total for FY 2025.
