Golden Island and Majestic Group Partner to Elevate Entertainment in Sri Lanka

Golden Island Hospitality Ltd. announced its partnership with Indian-based Majestic Group Hotels and Casinos to launch a new Majestic Pride Casino. The prestigious establishment is slotted to be located at the Lotus Tower building in the vibrant city of Colombo. According to reports, both companies have received the proper licenses to proceed with the project.

With the new premium casino, Golden Island Hospitality and Majestic Group aim to create a world-class destination for international and local tourists. The casino is anticipated to foster Sri Lanka’s bustling tourism industry and create youth employment opportunities in gaming and hospitality.

Government Approval and Investment is Pivotal to the Project

Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Finance, Economic Stabilization, and National Policies granted Golden Island Hospitality a casino business license. This permit propelled the venture to open a new gambling destination. The company also inked a deal with the country’s Board of Investment on August 1, 2024, securing the cornerstone for Majestic Pride Casino.

This project comes at a time when Sri Lanka has been working to broaden its tourism and gaming scopes. Majestic Pride will be a shiny notch on the country’s belt less than a year after it granted Melco Resorts & Entertainment a 20-year license to run casino and hotel services at Cinnamon Life Integrated Resort.

A World-Class Gaming Destination

While an official date for the casino opening has yet to be announced, Majestic Pride is assured to become a premier destination with a wide variety of traditional and new-age games featuring the latest technology and interactive features. It will host everything from classics like blackjack and roulette to slots and other gaming machines.

Majestic Pride Casino’s location aligns with the broader goal of revamping the Lotus Tower into a billion-dollar entertainment hub. The building is an iconic landmark in Sri Lanka and the 11th tallest tower in Asia. It currently serves as a broadcasting antenna for over 100 radio and TV stations and telecom service providers. It also features a museum, restaurants, MICE facilities, and luxury hotel rooms.

The Roots of Majestic Pride Casino

Majestic Group Hotels and Casinos operates in India and has two gambling destinations. Majestic Pride is the smaller and more popular of the two establishments for its dining and nightlife offerings.

Since it is an offshore casino, Majestic Pride is one of the few casinos in the country where gamblers can play games with human dealers, like in live casinos, rather than electronic tables. It hosts a high roller poker room, live entertainment on the casino floor, and a majestic open-air deck every night.
