Blizzard Roadmap for the 2026 Hearthstone Esports Circuit Revealed

  • In 2026, a new Competitive Season will be added
  • The new season provides an additional $50,000 prize pool
  • The World Championship will take place at BlizzCon in September 2026

The 2026 roadmap for Hearthstone's esports circuit has been revealed. There will be larger prize pools and new tournaments. 

Additionally, at BlizzCon in September 2026, the Hearthstone World Championship will take place. 

Looking At 2026

The Masters Tour Championship will be expanding from two tournaments to three in 2026. The Winter Championship will take place in April, with an additional $50,000 in prize money. 

There will be three seasons from January to June. Players will compete for regional playoff spots and Competitive Points, which are awarded based on their ranking in open qualifiers. 

Here's the point breakdown: 

  • Rank 1: 7 points
  • Rank 2-5: 6 points
  • Rank 6-10: 5 points
  • Rank 11-25: 4 points
  • Rank 26-50: 3 points
  • Rank 51-75: 2 points
  • Rank 76-100: 1 point

There will also be a Playoff Blitz Weekend. That will occur near the end of a season, and there will be multiple single-elimination open qualifiers. The winners of each of those will earn a place in the playoffs. 

Blizzard will provide more information soon about the first Blitz. 

A 2025 Hearthstone Recap

In 2025, the Spring and Summer championships were held in June and September. The players competed for a share of prize pools worth $50,000. 

The World Championship is underway. It began on Dec. 18 and will run through Dec. 21. It started with 16 players tota,l and they'll be competing for a share of a $500,000 prize pool. 

mlYanming won in 2024 and is looking to defend the title.
